Toe's Custom TILT suit

just a heads up to anybody thinking about getting one of tilts suits....DO IT!!!

Its so worth the money, and the fact that there are so many styles to choose from, and you can get any colors you want, and whatever lettering you want (size permitting)
NOBODY can beat the price, quality and customer service, 3 things you rarely see together :thumbup

Someone sounds like they got their sponsorship!

See you tonight, I'll check it out.

Care to place a wager on the "quality" and "customer service" claim? ;)

Nice suit nonetheless. :thumbup

Care to explain what you mean? :confused

have you delt with Daniel? he is a pleasure to deal with. sends out constant email updates, provides lots of input, and approachs everything with a positive additude.

and no, I havent crash tested it, but judging by fitment, leather, and stitch work, its very very nice! :thumbup

What IanG meant was that in any pre-sale transaction the customer service level is typically top notch, it is in the post-sale services/repairs are key.

For chrissake, Daniel messed up on the color of XxShawnxX's speed hump and is giving him a whole new suit FOR FREE. Would you guys quit h8ing?

:thumbup Nice suit, Toe.

..

Pretty much sums it up. I was being cheeky more than anything else. I'm sure the people responsible for making TILT suits are great.

Obviously I'm partial to a different suit maker and if you attend an AFM event and notice all the 'oval' logos on the shoulders of countless racers you'll know who I'm talking about.

Not trying to steal your thunder Toe.

Its all good man, I know its hard to compare something that cost 4 to 5 times the amount, but for those of us who cant dish out 2k for a suit, the Tilt suits are a perfect alternative!

right! cause all the poor shmos that can't afford a custom suit from helimot or zooni get a lot of customer support and quality from their store (off the rack suits) bought suits.

Not all of us have 1500 + bucks to drop on a suit...nor do we have a job that gets us a helimot custom suit either ;)

obviously haven't dealt with Daniel, have you. He's been nothing but up front on what he is offering, can offer and will offer. and no, not like motogear which had some shitty service, from what I hear.

I'll take that wager, Ian, what do you want to put down? :)

I love how all these people are bad mouthing the suit and quality without having one themselves.

Is it helimot or zooni quality, maybe not. is it affordable, yep. is it better than a store bought suit when it comes to fit, more than likely (cause it's custom fit)...for those of us that don't fit the normal store bought suits (which btw are nowhere under 500 bucks) Plus I get to have input on where I need added protection, stitching, etc. Didn't get that in my Dainese off the rack suit.

and seeing as how I get no support for alterations or repairs for a store bought suit, I still have to find my own leather repair guy to fix, alter or sew up any problems with my store bought suit (3 years old now)

so anything I got to do to this new suit, on my own is fine with me....it's still 525.00 usd cheaper than my dainese. Who's fucking zippers suck by the way! On all of their products.

Any concerns I've had with the TILT suits, and quality and/or the need for added security and safety protection have been addressed and I'm happy with that.

btw: Daniel, thanks for loaning me one of the suits, to have the team go over and request changes and concerns...I wish Dainese would have done the same, cause of their AWESOME quality, my suit blew out after the first crash...but hell, they've been in business for many years...how could that be?

I'll be in touch later this week, about measurements and get the ball rolling on our order. Thanks. :thumbup

:)

To OC and ianG, Tilt has been very open that the suits are not made here and that in-house repairs for him are not really possible at this time, but from what I read it sounds like he is working on finding and establishing a relationship with a shop to help him with that, something that cannot always be said for other "budget" suit makers. I think it's quite clear to anyone that has been on BARF for awhile that the unnamed "oval logo" suit maker ;) does a phenomenal job of customer service even after the transaction, and while Tilt has a lot to live up to there it seems like they're trying hard to provide a quality product that doesn't cost two grand (and succeeding so far).

I think Toe's statement seems to be legitimate so far (looking on as a third party, mind you) - rarely do you see such a combination of a (fairly) inexpensive product that seems to be of high quality with such a responsive and helpful vendor. While you're right that the test of time will be the ultimate yardstick with regard to customer service, rarely have I seen a vendor be even close to that responsive even after the sale was made and before the product was delivered!

I respect Daniel and Tilt for doing what they're doing, for making people happy and trying to make right the errors they've made. I'm sure it's a learning process. I don't have one of these suits, but based on the feedback from those around here would consider one in the future after a little more time has gone by.

All I'm saying is give the guy and the company a chance to prove themselves before immediately opening up discussions of suspect quality and customer service. Are they going to take over the AFM grid? Probably not. But they're doing a good service for the riding community by offering a competitively-priced safety product, and I support them for that. I know you guys were primarily just messing around, but everyone should just ease back, give it some time, and see how happy or unhappy folks are in the long term before dogging them too much, even playin around. Sorry for the soapbox, just bored at work. :)

Nice lookin' suit Toe. :thumbup

I'll be in line for one soon, after I get some remaining minor bills out of the way.

+1 on the Dainese zippers. I've had two of their suits and one jacket and on all of them, at least two zippers (including the main one) have failed. They used cheap-ass zippers and not the burly YYK's that should have come standard. :wtf is up with that? :dunno

On measurements, where should I get those taken?

I had mine taken a mens warehouse. any other taylor should be able to do it... I had mine done 3 times, once at mens warehouse, once at selix tux rentals, and once with my GF's help.

not my team. i'm only a member.

but when someone hands me a suit, when they don't even know me, and says, look it over, tell me what you like..what you don't like...and tell me what you want. I tend to take that into account. and go into it with an open mind.

good suit there Toe!!!!

have to laugh at the photo with "camel" on the front though. :laughing :laughing

With a purchase price of under $400 you can get this suit repaired 5 times over and still pay half of the other full suits. Obviously, if money is not an object most would prefer a reputable, time and track proven suit but for now these seem like a great alternative. Great looking suit man and congrats.

I was thinking of getting in touch with Steve (Magyarbetyar). His wife is a seamstress. They live out in Concord. :thumbup

Did Men's Wearhouse charge you for the measuring? How much?
