The set of Michelin Power Pures were delivered today and I'll probably get them mounted tomorrow to replace the set that had the nail in the rear tire...
One thing I noticed about the tires right away is that they are VERY soft, as in "supple"
I've gone thru a number of sets of tires Pilot Powers, PP 2cts, Bridgestones of several models and in each case the carcass of the rear tire was moderately stiff when you pressed down right at the highest point on the profile. You had to exert quite a bit of pressure to get the unmounted tire to flex inward.
But these new Michelins are like bicycle tires in comparison to that! The carcass folds inward easily with the lightest press to the point that they really do feel too supple for motorcycle tires.
I'm assuming that everything's good and this is a by-product of the single spiral filament used (instead of the several that is typical) to make the tires lighter. I'm wondering now what kind of mileage I'll get out of these things because the rubber also feels very soft.
Well, I have to try everything once
