Look I'm going to be blunt: riding motorcycles is not for you. You don't have the judgement necessary to do it without hurting yourself or others needlessly. Stop now before you hurt someone even worse.

I made my gf take MSF and get her M1 before buying Helmet, Jacket, Pants, Gloves, Boots. for her before we gone 2 up. Its nice to have someone behind you who knows how to ride and what to do in turns :ride

I'm jealous. Every time I teach someone to ride, they want their own fuckin' motorcycle shortly there after.

I'm glad the CBR250 and the RS125 is coming here.. she'll have a choice between those and the ninja 250 as her first bike :ride

Paging budBandit. If it's any concession, he ended up marrying the woman he lost off the back of his bike under similar circumstances and speed.

I'm glad she's ok, given the circumstances, it could have been much, much worse!

When I have a passenger (have taken many over the years), I always ensure that their grip on me is tight when I'm going to do something that requires them to be secure. No exemptions, no assumptions.

OP, you've been open and honest about the whole thing without trying to dodge the responsibility, so I'm sure that you're going to beat on yourself and learn from this far more than anything somebody is going to say to you on here.

Stay friendly with her, I'm guessing she could make your life hell legally

To clarify some things, she and I are the only ones that drive aggressively. She enjoys doing wheelies and high speed. I choose the safest spots to do things (empty road at night was a good place, not a good anything else). I failed to consider alcohol and proper warning before doing it that time. If it were any other person who I didn't have experience with I wouldn't be doing illegal and dangerous stunts. This doesn't excuse my responsibiliy, but I don't wanna appear like I'm taking her for a ride she doesn't want.

The day after the crash I was talking to her about riding in the future and she says she cant wait to hop back on my bike after she is healed up enough.

I agree it was brave, and I do hope others learn from this.

JacktheSmack, although I am appalled by your riding actions and choices; thank you for posting this so others can learn.

the only problem with this statement is that nobody will learn, because if they did,we wouldn't have these types of threads here,

Untrue. A rider ( a new rider for example) unkowning of these fallacies in reasoning, and its results, can see this as an example and learn. These threads continue not because NOBODY learned, but because NOT EVERYBODY learned

So you learned nothing? Even if she is stupid and says GO FAST IT MAKES ME WET, you can't be man enough and say no? Instead you will do it again and maybe next time something happens she will die or you both will?

How old are you again? Don't you realize what you are doing is not only stupid as shit but dangerous as well? Stunt if you want. Do it properly geared and in a proper place. Not on public roads and for damn sure not with a passenger even if they want you too....SPECIALLY IF THEY ARE NOT GEARED! If I was her Dad I would be over to your house in a flash and beat the living shit out of you.

You my friend are Darwin nominee of the year for me.

Yeah...that's the hope, anyway. As for me when I was young....you could TELL me the stove was hot, but I had to FEEL it for myself.
It really is surprising I survived those years, actually. It's only because I can recall those times that keep me from getting TOO preachy.....and equally why I continue to have periodic thoughts of "oh my gawd, what have I done?" regarding my son riding.

LOL - dude posts saying "I did a stupid and reckless thing and feel terrible about it" and a whole bunch of other people post telling him what a stupid and reckless thing he did and that he should feel terrible about it!

Piece of advice to to the holier-than-thou types: when someone does something really stupid and suffers the consequences of it, it doesn't help them at all to tell them how stupid a thing to do it was or that "you shouldn't do that again"

In light of the fact that the OP stated he only does it late at night and/or on deserted roads, let me add this.....

That don't mean shit. It still ain't safe in spite of what you think. Suppose you fuck up and you and your bike or your girlfriend is lying in the middle of the road and someone does come along late at night and only sees you or the bike at the last instant and instinctually swerves and hits an abutment or something and dies? Just someone on their way home, hoping to see their family and have a nice sleep at the end of a long day.

It never ceases to amaze me how people (usually young ones but they don't necessarily have a monopoly) do a little bit of thinking followed with some rationalization and come to the conclusion that something is OK, safe, or no problem. Usually it's not. They just don't put any real effort into their thought process because they want to do it anyway. The rest of the world be damned.
