SUN 3/11 Lake Barryessa/Knoxville/Rayhouse Rd.

Thanks for prerunning the route for us Banjoboy and Rodr. Glad you made it home ok Andy. Will have to catch you on the next ride.

Not so good, some of the road after the gate is really gnarly. Big rocks, ruts, some steep sections. As an inexperienced dirt rider I really shouldn't have been on it and did have a get-off.

Post carnage pics!

Rough scouting run. Glad no real harm was done. Hope to see you guys on one of these rides soon.

Got first person video, maybe will post to Crash Analysis, or advrider's Face Plant. But first gotta figure out how to bleep out certain words. :laughing

Kudos to rodr and Banjoboy... bailed on Sunday's ride but made up by providing a route reconnaissance 24 hours ahead of the main party. Brave souls... got his ADV cherry popped on a weestrom!:shocker

Nice photo of Banjoboy and his FZ6... yes you heard me: his FZ6 dirtbike shod with 17" street tires! and full Aerostich fashion.
I'ma slave ta fashion! Themz iz Pilot Powers (not even ST tires with sum tread!) and they did fine. (Even while covered in oil!) :rofl

Yikes!!! That sounds like NO fun at all. What are the odds of an auto tow shop in Winters having a Yamaha oil filler cap in stock? Glad you're ok.....it could have been a lot worse.
Itz not fun, it's an adventure! :party
Not only that, but the donor bike just happened ta be an '07 FZ6! (wut r the oddz of that?)

Wee'z (Strom) here fer y'all! :teeth

Post carnage pics!
Here's wut a fucking idiot I am; I looked in my tank bag 3 times fer my camera but couldn't find it. (coulda sworn I grabbed it?) Then when I got home and unpacked everythang, there it wuz! Wut a fucking 'tard!
It woulda made fer sum great pics; the bike wuz teetering on the edge of a washout. It wuzn't quite upside down, but the tires were above the seat & handle bars. Hopefully Rod got sum good video?
Hey Rod, thars a crash page in BARF too ya know? Hope ya took sum Advil, and are feel'in ok? (I'm usually purdie sore the day after a git off.)

NOAA says 70% at middletown and satellite shows precip headed right at you.

My vagina hurts. Have fun guys.

It's raining in Cobb right now. Just over the hill from Middletown. :(

Just got back and it was awesome!!! Perfect conditions little to almost no rain equaled zero dust and perfect traction. Rd 40 was wide open and so was my throttle!! GREAT ROAD!!! And fun group of guys I think twelve of us did it Two triumph tigers one scrambler and handful of KLR's and a couple Suzuki's one yamy two KTM's on 450exc and my big 990 oh and one Beemer gs. Two slight get offs, the beemer spun out and did a 180 and the supermoto Yamy went down when the pilot grabbed the monster front brake, otherwise awesome ride thanks Drew! Se yall next time.:teeth

Nice to hear y'all did not get rained on today!

Hopefully Rod got sum good video?

Yes I did mention Crash Analysis. But the advrider guys are not as mean. :laughing

Anyway here it is. And yeah I'm fine, thanks.

Dayum! That's a good one! You're lucky your bike didn't go all the way over. I think your soda overweighted the right side of the bike and tipped it over. Nice save pulling the soda before it dumped out.

Maybe a little target fixation and freakout also. Keep your speed up to help roll over the ruts rather than dropping into them really slowly. If you drop in slow, your forks will bounce back and knock you off balance.

It was a Foster Freeze milk shake, thankyouverymuch. It did dump out and I was bummed not to finish it. :laughing

We heard the news from Greg this morning and viewed your video. I hope you're OK. I was suprised you encountered 4 wheelers out there. we din't see a soul. You looked like you and Andy were doing fine out there.

Both get-offs today may have been caused by too much front bias: either too much front brake, or holding on too tight on the bars... no names necessary.

Having scared my ego $#!tless...I'm trying not to hold my handle bars too tight, just keeping my elbows up to take off the steering inputs. Get the 'thigh master' workout on my tank to control the bike. Standing to weight the footpegs has helped me lower the center of gravity and let's the bike move freely under me; and I'm trying to maintain throttle to stabilize and keep from abrupt decelerations or chopping the throttle... just so scared of ploughing the front end. Turning using the rear brake seems so much more safer than steering the front.

I was thrilled to see Star_man's 'Steamer' today (it's a Tiger thing);and Alex did the ride on his V-Strom with a pillion!

Thanks to all y'all for showing and keeping me safe. Sorry I didn't get to ride with Rod and Andy (Banjoboy)...

Bummed I couldn't make it out. I had this silly thing called school and work all this weekend. Looks like it was quite a success which makes me even more frustrated!

Rod - Glad you're okay man. That looked like it hurt.

To the rest of you who went - Sounds like a great ride. Maybe next time.

I'm officially out for this one. Gonna try to make the next one.

My vagina hurts.

No worries... see you next 2nd Sunday of the Month (4/8 Easter), same place, same time.

Since we estimate most didn't show because of weather forecast or daylight saving time; there will probably be more riders as the word gets out and those who have ridden with us come back for more abuse!:mstingray
