Where's YOUR favorite, local pizza joint?

I'm HUNGRY!!!!

ZELDA'S PIZZA
My most favorite deep-dish pizza joint/dive bar... Pizza, beer, or sit just at the bar and sip your whiskey... dammit.

Zelda's Pizza

My favorite pizza place to hang with friends. Delicious pizza, awesome drinks (try their "Panigale"!), heavenly affogato, and talk of motos.

I'm a big fan of Ascona's pizza in San Ramon/Danville, even though it is a bit pricey.

For deep dish, I like Little Star in Albany. I'll have to check out Zelda's next time I'm in Sac.

Goat Hill Pizza on Connecticut St. in San Francisco is pretty good. But honestly there are many great pizza places in the Bay Area.

Meh, all this west coast pizza is rubbish. But I'm from the home of the best pizza, New Haven, Connecticut.

Zelda's is fantastic.

Yeah, how could we forget about New Haven!

I'm just spoiled with actually amazing pizza. Everything else pales in comparison.

I'm not sure if you just don't know, or what. But New Haven pizza is always in the top spots for those "Best Pizza" lists.

But, ya, I get it's not local.

Honestly, I make better pizza than most take out places, and I do it for a fraction of the cost.

Buy a pizza steel (or stone), a paddle/peel and learn to make your own dough. Then it's just about the quality of the toppings.

+1 but don't forget the quality of sauce! very important.

<-- used to work at a high-quality pizza shop

my faves in the area?

-Village Host in burlingame
-Mission pizza in fremont
-garrett in san jose.

all have good dough, good sauce, good toppings. I'd vouch for them.

Carl's or Casa Capri, both in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Food is the only thing I miss about that state.

Out here Pizza Pirate, but I usually don't get pizza when I go there so I don't think my vote counts.

I make my own sauce, naturally.

Pizza is just too expensive in this city...I mean, i know why, but I still can't stomach paying $30 for a single pizza.
