@#@#*&^%$!!!!1 (craigs ads rant)

I feel your frustration.
Every time I go to buy another Toyota truck, I have to sift through countless posers selling Mazdas Nissans Chevys, etc.

Flag them as "Miscategorized" when the wrong things comes up in your search.

I only search for "Ducati", "Moto Guzzi", and "XR650L". Every single ad that comes up for something else, where they listed every brand that they know to get more hits, gets flagged. If we all did that, these guys would have their ad killed off within an hour or two and the abuse would stop.

Flag them!

j/k dude!
I flag the shit out of people. If they have CAPS LOCK ON. I flag them too!

just click the box "search title only"

Heh. I just flagged a chunk of adds that had zip to do with SV650s. CL is like anything else imbeciles, the general public and spammers get a hold of :mad

Welcome to the internet. Have you seen the "only search titles" check box?
Sometimes the title doesn't include what I might be looking for. Sometimes they'll say "Monster" or "900SS" and not include the word "Ducati" in the title, even though I might be interested in their bike.

Besides, there is some satisfaction in flagging the jerks that list every brand they've ever heard of. And if we get enough people doing it, we might even make a difference.

Better idea than FLAGGING. Freaking learn how to search. If you know EXACTLY what you are looking for ONLY search titles. If the title is miscategorized, then and only then should you flag it. Just because you searched for Ducati and you saw some other bikes come up does NOT MEAN THAT YOU SHOULD FLAG IT. It's assholes like that that piss me off on CL. POS wanna be craigslist vigilante's who get all butt hurt because they see something that wasn't in their search criteria.

Do you get all up in arms when you see something that isn't 100% relevant in your Google or Yahoo searches? No? Then why piss off honest people who are just trying to sell their crap on Craigs List. My buddy had to re-post his bike at least 3 times a day because of jack asses like that. He simply put a few keywords in there so that his bike got out in more searches. Excuse him for trying to sell a somewhat obscure bike.

I grabbed the first offender I found in a Ducati search. It was for a Honda CRF-450.

At the bottom was the following line:
KEYWORDS: crf 250, CRF 450, honda, suzuki, kawasaki, ktm, 125, cr kx drz kxf cbr ninja, ducati, crf230, crf150, motorcycle, muffler klx crf50 xr, yamaha yzf yz

There are much worse examples. Why put "ducati" in this list when Ducati doesn't make dirt bikes and is not related to this bike in any way whatsoever other than having an engine and two wheels?

This is what needs to be stopped. How can you defend this person?

Wrong answer. Keyword spamming is pollution and abuse of a public service and does nothing except to increase the noise level and decrease the utility of craigslist. A Civic is not a Corolla nor is a ZX10 an R1. People that abuse and degrade a public service for attempted personal gain are the lowest form of minifink fucktard and deserve to have their ads flagged and removed.

You see, there is something called the policing by the community, that's how craigslist works don't ya know? So, the community at large has decided that posting all those keywords was unacceptable and re-posting 3-times a day just pisses 'em off and from then on out, you are REALLY on their shit-list so good luck on anything staying up longer than 10 seconds...

Getting back on topic, all the keyword spammers are annoying so yeah, I flag 'em..
