2019 Honda Super Cub

Different transmission, though. Clutchless 4 speed.

How does that work when you're slowing down? Can I just be speeding along in 4th, and ABS to a hard stop, then just click down 3 times to 1st at the light?

Technically, yes, it won’t stall on you.

What's it's top speed if anyone has ridden the OG one? Sometimes I think about getting a minibike and just ride back roads everywhere and sneak it into places I shouldn't be riding :p The Super Cub would definitely rock in SF.

Doesn't have the cool front springers like the old one though :(

I REALLY hoping that this leads to a re-release of the Trail 90 :ride

Ooooooo. Now you’re talking. Memories of me ripping around the neighborhood streets of my grandparents mountain house in Arnold almost 30 years ago on a Trail 90.

Would need a little more juice though. Back when I was 12, I weighed all of 120 pounds. I had to go downhill to get the thing over 40.

I love you guys! :love You meet the nicest people on a Honda.

A pushrod trail 90 is what I first hit the streets with, pressed steel frame & forks.
Big secret, if you held downward force on the shift lever, wound it up then released the shift lever it would be like popping a conventional clutch.

If it's at all like my '82 Passport, the answer is yes. You can also rev match and downshift while slowing.

I suspect the transmission is basically the same, but a different clutch.

As such, I suspect you'd have trouble getting it to shift down 3 gears when not moving.

Oh, yes. Wheelie city.

Just like running a manual trans clutchless.

Nope, not a problem...a 5 speed would have been nice.

It would not surprise me if you did that you would just have to click down, tweak the throttle, rinse and repeat until you get to the bottom.

I assume there's a neutral buried in there somewhere as well.

As someone who has pushed a CVT scooter with no gas (uphill, natch), one can appreciate neutral.

I've never had luck with doing that without rocking the bike, but maybe the Cub has some interesting tech that lets you

My C70 Passport is a 3 speed so 4 gears and the bigger engine make the new Cub quite a different bike but at least it won't feel as vulnerable in traffic. I can barely squeeze out 43mph while in a full tuck :ride 45mph is my stretch goal. :laughing

The tranny is N-1-2-3. The gear selection is just a sequential shift: click - click - click. No throttle movement required. You can accelerate and leave the throttle wide open as you upshift but that's mean.

People love the bike. While putting around Mountain View downtown today I got compliments from three absolute strangers. You meet the nicest people on a Honda :ride

Saw the new SuperCub and new Monkey at the crawl last week in Tennessee

The pictures make the Monkey look enormous compared to the SuperCub =p

I’m sorry to hijack this thread but I need some advice as I’m a little torn.

I currently have a 1980 Honda CT110. It has almost 16k miles on it. Keep this bike or buy a new used Supercub when it comes out?

I see two mounting bolts in the rear fender for a seat or rack? Would be an awesome grocery getter.

Both.....

I think they did a fantastic job styling this and the Monkey. If they release a fuel-injected CB350/CL350 that looks like the original, it'll be the first new motorcycle I buy.

Any, ah, rumors?

Got to see the Super Cub in person last weekend at WSBK, it's smaller than I thought it would be.
