2019 Honda Super Cub

How much for pipe? Man don't tempt me, I so don't want to put an exhaust on my Cub. The last thing I want is to pull up to someone's house delivering food and they hear my obnoxious little bike =P

Yeah Japanese always give the American names some boring name. Like the Z car is called a Fairlady in Japan. The 240SX is the Silvia. The XT200 is called a Serow in Japan. They think Americans like to give everything nomenclatures haha which is funny because enthusiasts in Japan call stuff by the chassis code like AE86 or S14. Anyway Hunter Cub sounds so much cooler. Same thing with the Super Cub they had to add the C125 here. I guess one they haven't butchered is Africa Twin.

It's actually not that loud ! ( well unless you take the silencer out, then its crazy how loud a 125 can be ) , the header is in the container with the supercub, the muffler is on my couch. Yoshimura offers life time re-packing services for free, and accident repair service for a fee. Its $520 new, its used and dented now, so I think 200 is a fair price, but open to offers. Attached some pics, the big dent is on the back, where it hit the shock bolt. Ill have the rest of it on the 17th.

So I was thinking I really like this cub it's too bad it's not electric and I'm am pretty sure an EV Cub is going to come out in the near future. It would be nice to have the instant torque. I know there are kits to convert them and the CSC Monterey looks like a Cub. We'll just have to wait. But if it is affordable and has similar or better performance to the Super Cub C125 I would be down to get one. It looks like the EV Cub would have removeable batteries also. According to one of the links the EV Cub might have a LifePO4 battery, that's a different type of Lithium Ion cell that is more robust but is less dense than traditional Lithium Ion/Polymer cells.

I would rather have an electric cub than a scooter Honda

An electric Cub would be so much fun! That CSC is neat, but it's just another 30 mph limited vehicle. Great for getting that moped registration, but not too useful outside of SF. I hope if Honda does an electric scoot, that it has some useful speed. Doesn't need to be freeway capable, but more than 30 or 40mph would be great. I'm not holding my breathe though, it'll likely be just like the Vespa Elettrica, expensive and taps out at 30.

Yeah i think if they can match the speed of the current Super Cub like 50 or 55 mph would be good enough for me. It is totally possible to have something that small and fast because my modified Sur Ron Light Bee is actually faster than the Super Cub C125 and I can get it up to 70 mph.

But the range would be another issue as well. If they can get it to have the same range as the Super Cub C125 would be great, 100 miles. So yeah it'd be a tough to totally match the current Cub in range and still have that power, I'm sure Honda is hard at work with this issue is probably the reason they haven't produced the EV Cub yet.

You identified the problem I keep running into with that thing - electric can offer range or it can offer power. Yea, it can get up to 70mph but even at 45mph, with typical bay area hills the range is likely under 40 miles even using EP mode. (So say the owners I've talked to, at least) And even then, if you go more than half that distance from home/parking, you're gonna be in a tight spot getting home, whereas a super cub can just top off the gas tank.

I've been combing all several forums deciding what my next short distance vehicle will be and the Sur Ron, Luna X1, Ruckus, Trail 125, Zuma 125, and Biketrix Juggernaut are all in the running., with various pros/cons The Sur Ron is currently in last place due to the possibility of getting stuck waiting for charge - everything else is a quick top-off or can move to 100% pedal power.

You can charge the Sur Ron at public charging stations but you'll need to carry a 220V charger and EVSE adapter with you. I have one but honestly don't use it much.

But yeah the faster you go the more power it'll chomp whereas on a gas bike you can ride like you stole it pretty much haha. I literally just took the Light Bee just now and went back home because I needed to go somehwere else but because I didn't have enough charge I went home and grabbed the cub.

Should look into the Sondors Metacycle, it looks like a great short distance bike that is a bit freeway capable, it has a hub motor also so no chain to adjust and lube. I'm tempted to get one for deliveries but I feel I should wait till they've been out for a while to see if any issues pop up.

Another bike I am looking forward to is the Sur Ron Storm Bee. If it is reasonably priced and I can get a dual sport model it'll be my next electric bike.

Nice that's a great price especially with the extra goodies and it's the blue one! I suggest posting this on the motos for sale sub forum you'll get more eyes on it.

Question how do you tie your Super Cub down? When I put mine on the trailer I put a soft tie around the plastics on the handle bar and it kinda leaves a mark on the plastics. I don't really see any good places to tie it down. The rear is easy I just tie the rack down.

Haha it has the same marks on the left side from boots rubbing on it.

The marks on the plastic are for a pile of wood that fell, as for strapping it down there's this awesome strap called "canyon dancer" it's amazing and included, then I use a wheel chock and put one strap though the rear. But the best answer is to just ride it to where your going ! Thanks I will post it on the subforum !
