2026 F1 thread, when season starts there will be spoilers.

China's long straight is going to be a challenge for these new cars. And then...there's Baku. Oh boy!

So qualifying was 3 seconds slower than 2025, but the race was more interesting.

Will Ferrari once again show promise and fade?

Had to agree with Hamilton that it seemed a no brainer to bring one of them in on the virtual safety car when everyone else came in; might have cost them each a higher place on the podium.

Mercedes looked as promised, other than Ferrari, the rest of the teams have work to do.

Did not think Lando would hold off Verstappen.

Bearman (Haas) and Lindblad (RB junior team) looked good.

Felt bad for Hadjar who was also doing a solid job.

You do not need a F1TV account. When in the Apple TV app you can go to the menu (I push left on the little circle thingy on the remote) and you should see Formula 1 on the list. You need to click on that and it will bring you to the Formula 1 section of the Apple TV app. The F1TV app just has more stuff (old races, documentaries, etc).

No. I was just logging in via my Amazon Prime App.

So you’ve paid for AppleTV as an add-on to Prime?

I was still able to find the replay in the Prime Video app and the Amazon Shopping app. Subscriptions->AppleTV->F1->Replays.

You should prob download the AppleTV app and see if your Amazon login works there.

I just used my old Apple TV account on my Roku and it was all right there.

The race replays may stay up all year; not sure.

Seems very likely within the next 24-48 hours we will hear that Bahrain and Saudi Arabia GP's will be cancelled. Likely with no replacements.

But hey, Portimão, Hockenheim or one of the French tracks could be replacements come to think about it. Seeing these cars on the Mugello Circuit would be fun! Eh...not sure those tracks can be ready in time.

It would be VERY pleasant if they ran 2 times at COTA, once week before or after GP & once in the fall how cool would that be?

Great race, esp for a new ruleset. First 14 laps were exciting as can be.

Best F1 race in years, in terms of overall enjoyment and racing. For once I wasn't FFW through the whole thing. Great racing action...the changes have inverted my skepticism(s). This looks to be a good season of real racing. Bravo to the rule changes, so far.

Reactions: GAJ
The teams are suggesting that kind of action won’t stick around. They’ll get a better handle on the recharge and deployment, so they won’t allow a re-pass because of a lack of juice. I don’t disagree, but it’ll probably still be better than DRS.

The FIA is going to meet w the teams after China to discuss whether they should change something about the recharge or deployment limits. The drivers and teams are whining so much about lift and coast and super clipping being anti-F1 that the FIA may try to mitigate it. They might increase the super clipping recharge limit. They might decrease the deployment max limit. They might do nothing if China goes well.

IMO changing anything after China is dumb. The teams are going to get A LOT better at managing this really fast. And Australia was one of the worst track. And two of the other bad track are prob cancelled cuz war. Plus the racing was fucking great. So f the whiners. No knee jerk reactions.

Had to google super clipping. Basically you floor the accelerator but instead of go juice you get batter pack re-charge to be able to have extra go juice boost later. But flooring it an not moving is definitely a crazy feeling I'm sure. Kinda like the car has a failure or something I bet....

Its interesting how the best overall driver to win this year will probably be one of the ones who figure out how to play the new video game style F1 best with their team....

Pre-Converting energy from Liquid Fuel to Electrical & then to Mechanical is going to get interesting I guess.

Which team will figure out their 2nd car can act like a fast charger for their teammate while on track? Does the pit stop afford re-charging from the jacks? Where is that 1s advantage at?

Lets see some crazy ideas win this!

No surprise.

F1 set to cancel Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Grand Prix

Sources have indicated previously that neither Middle Eastern race is likely to be replaced or rescheduled, leaving April an empty month for the series and the championship reduced to 22 rounds.
Bahrain was scheduled for April 12 with the Saudi ‌race in Jeddah on April 19.

Kind of irritated that Canadian GP is Memorial Day weekend instead of the Monaco GP. I can watch racing all day!

F1...then Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600.

So it is still the Mercedes and Ferrari show.

Alpine had a good qualifying with Gasly.
