3/17/07 Sat- Paintball @ Santa Clara Fairgrounds

LOL good so you can spot me and get help just in case I fly over the cliff on my 07 gixxer 1K. :laughing

I played airball often until breaking my ankle in a game last year. After going through that, the surgery, the recovery, etc, I am not as in to it now. I had the same thoughts as many of you about where paintball has gone. I played back in high school with a SplatMaster. When I got back in to it I was frustrated from getting drilled in the dome by a bunch of 13 year old kids. Then I started buying better markers and ended up with a Timmy. That with some game experience made paintball fun again. My teenage kid is in to it...after doing good in some 3-man tourneys he recently got on a team to do XPSL. I think the reality of it is you can only have fun with a mechanical marker only in an all-newb game. These kids rock their e-triggers even in woodsball. We will probably be going to Hunting Beach in march to watch NPPL. So who's the first one here who is going to say "I want to be a sniper."

LOL I only say that when I play HALO online :laughing. But I do understand what you are talking about. Markers today make any 12-13 yr old to shoot like the pros and they do think they are. paintball has been so commercialized it is insane. but its evolution did have its double edge sword. Back in the old days people worry about paintball being as a para-military training by extremist. then as time went on and more exposure, paintball became more main stream. And high $$$ markers and equipment is now considered the norm. Basicall the strategy has shifted from stealth to wealth.

The March 17 date is fo Santa Clara.

Paintball @ Santa Clara Fairgrounds - March 17th!!

:)

hey 1337 what recent paint y'all carry anyways. Y'all used to sell GAP paint (good paint, was very impressed) and last time were the Diablo (so so not as good as Marbs) brand.

we've been carrying bonus balls but something happened with them so now we're on to looking for a new paint supplier. recently it's been spectrum, and from what i know it's worse than bonus balls. i don't know if they're sticking to that, but we still carry gap. gooood paint, and smells like bananas :)

I think i'm going to have to send my guns in for maintenance, they havent been fired in years. wonder if the orings have become plastic by now:wow

What marker you got.

I have taso spartan, spyder, minimag, Shocker, adrenaline Angel. I've been trying to get the adrenaline angel to fix for a while, but no one is adrenaline certified. know of someone locally?

I don't know any one cert for an Angel. I played around with the original Angel when they came out. It shouldn't be that hard. The most important is the electronics. So if you need a tune-up you do need a set of new o-rings. I have most of the tools you need (I think).

Its something with the electronics/pneumatics. It wont fire when gased up, but cycles the trip counter. So perhaps a jammed hammer. not sure. but i have to find a certified Adrenaline, not just a normal angel cert. Pitfalls of buying the uber custom gun for the lose

I myself would rather learn how it works and do my own repairs. If you could think of the simple process when the air chamber is filled and the trigger is pulled, where does the gas go through to reach the bolt and to the ball. Then you can understand how your gun works. Electronics is electronics there is only 2 ways to deal with it 1) make sure the setting and config are correct, or 2) get a new board.

I've owned one of the auto-cocker back in 2002. My team was the first amateur factory team for wOrr games products. And had to learn how the auto-cocker worked and did my own service because I did want to wait till I get the gun back from Bud. fast forward today, now I own a DM4 and I also learned how this gun worked so today i do my own service on the gun. Bottom line is that you can learn and repair your own gun. As long as you understand the basics that all paint marker works in the same principle it is just the matter on how it uses the air to make it work. thats it. If I had some time I could possibly make it work possibly better than before. its just I can't get it done by game time.

BTW: you said you have a minimag? not a Micromag right? have you heard of a Pro-Line Auto-Response trigger assembly? I have one for sale.

i do understand how the guns work. I had an eclipse autococker myself which i regret selling. but the autococker has a 3 way valve as opposed to the angel's 14-way valve. yeah i have a minimag, not micromag. i also did have a micromag but again i sold it, which i regret. My minimag is still relatively new, i bought it for a spare and only shot about 100 rounds through it. It has the RT valving. is that the same thing as your auto-response trigger? btw autococker question, do the electrocockers still have the rear block blowback? i hated that because it would scratch the hell out of my goggles.
