5 dead in limo crash on SM bridge

give me a fucking break. This also isn't "your" helicopter and it's not the army

I got that. But I'm just saying, it's not exactly a far-fetched idea. They're already weight your bags. You're only kidding yourself if you think the scales aren't coming eventually.

we aren't talking "eventually" We are talking about a bunch of women getting into a limo that already died. I'm sure had the driver asked to weigh them and they didn't die that night you would be reading about their lawsuit instead.

The only thing close to what you say is the airlines "if your ass doesn't fit in one seat you have to pay for two" policy.

It's also WHY they weigh bags now...they can't weigh you! :laughing

'Murica

not going to argue with you but no you can't. Go to an airline and observe them asking people for their weight. You don't. They have to make estimates or use other means to calculate weight.

Why can't they? They don't, but of course they CAN

Yet... :teeth

Sorry, I just don't see weight as a privacy issue. Americans are too snobby in that regard. Heavy flights take more fuel. Airlines have to budget for that fuel and, from my understanding (ask Planegray) they do not fill the tanks up completely unless they absolutely have to. And generally, no one except kids weighs less than their checked bags. The people on the plane are still the heaviest load. :p

I, for one, would gladly step on a scale if it meant a lower fare. I'd bet money many other 'Muricans would too. Shit, wouldn't it be funny if it sparked a whole new generation of people that give a shit about their health just because it was gonna save them money on travel? Now that's 'Murica! :laughing

if I "average" a passenger and their bags at 300lbs, and in the 70's I could afford to let passengers bring all their bags cause they mostly weighed under 200lbs. Now they are averaging over 200lbs per passenger so they have to limit the luggage. WITHOUT prejudice, they can charge for extra bags...not pounds.

I would wager that the first airline to go it alone and weigh passengers would soon reverse that decision due to noise level :)

Considering it's already being done in Samoa, I would imagine the noise is pretty loud....if there is any. Those are some big folks. :wow

culturally there its not a bad thing. They charge for being skinny :laughing

These weren't large women in that car but roughly average to smaller size. The suspension was weak or faulty I think.
