8/23-24 NorCal IV Epic Supermoto: The High Sierras

That good huh?

Sounds pretty awesome, guess I would be the slow dude in back. :)

well from what I read about other rides, expect it to be scratched, laid down etc
if you can live with imperfections on your bike then you'll like the event IMO

Wow, just saw this thread that sounds like a blast!

Just picked up a Hypermotard (all fat motard jokes aside) , having never ridden this route do you think it would be suitable ride for those roads? Just wondering how "epic" is epic?

It's certainly doable on that bike with a good rider, but the real question is, would you rather ride the bike or polish the bike? If you would be upset lowsiding in the gravel at 40mph, dumping the bike in a rock garden, riding off a 40 ft. cliff or being attacked by runaway KTM Dukes, then you might want to think about skipping this one.

I just wimped out on riding up to the start point. Can't carry enough camping gear or beer. With that said if anyone wants to commute up let me know. Even the tundra sucks gas :(

Sorry riding up with Sharkburmer.

I'll be driving up in the duramax and since Mortifer whimped out i'll be alone from San Jose.

Yeah i can swing by, we will use super secret encoded PM's to coordinate.

Sorry, I'm out. No riding for at least a month. Yes, I will be cranky.

Why you not joining us?

'Accute Coronary Syndrome' followed by 'Coronary Angioplasty.' Appearently you CAN have a heart attack at 46. Anyway, should be good as new for Nor Cal 5. Y'all have fun and try to not kill each other.

whoa, you are not messin around.
Take care of yourself man and rest up. We'll take lots of pictures for you and document all the goings on.

There might be time to squeeze some slickrock action into day 1 if you guys are down for it.

Hoe shit Brett, sorry to hear! That damn 2-stroke got the best of ya huh!? :)

Shark and Scott- J- dub is in Pittsburg as well. I am in Danville. We might be able to meet up at my place and load all our junk up in one vehicle or vehicle plus trailer.

What up fellas, looks like I am going to be joining the party.

I am an off-road enthusiast of all sorts. In the summer I am in my rock crawler wheeling Rubicon, Fordyce, etc. I have wheeled slick rock, blue lakes, and Dorrington as well so I know that area a bit. I have never been there on a bike but I am anxious to see what it is all about.

I normally ride dirt trails at Stony, Forest Hill, and Gold Note. TRK has been bugging the crap out of me to buy a DS but he does not have me convinced just yet. I have owned a CR250, YZ426F, and a few CRF450s, I currently have an 07 CRF450R. I ride Baja once a year or so, typically during the 1k we go and prerun ~400 miles of the course as well as some fun riding on the beach and what not. As TRK mentioned I have also owned a few street bikes, I don't think I will be holding anyone up. On the other hand I will be riding TRK's bike so I won't be flogging it...

I have an E350 van I use to haul the bikes. I am hoping that TRK and I will be headed up Friday night to camp but we do both have families so maybe we will leave Sat morning, what time do you expect to start on Sat morning? You can look for me, we will be rolling this monster van (without the trailer).

I also live in Pittsburg, if anyone else needs a ride let me know. I can fit three bikes (one will be on the hitch) without a trailer and it seat four comfortably. Again, I am new the the DS thing so the more dirt the better for me!:teeth:ride

Thanks for organizing all of this Luckett! :thumbup

I'm probably going up a couple days early if anyone wants to ride with me. Thurs. ride Pecha?
