8/23-24 NorCal IV Epic Supermoto: The High Sierras

Man i'm trying to get my bike together. Can you give some percentages of on and off road we will be riding. I have a drz-sm and got the street tires on it. But we are in the process of putting on some MT-21's. Please advise.

from what Luckett was said I think about 80%-85% street 20%-15% dirt.

I was going to go d606's but he talk me out of it..

It's not the 15% dirt, it's the 5% rock :wow

I've taken my SMR with slicks to the dirt parks, knobs are over rated :x

This looks awesome... I have an appointment with Mickey Mouse and my daughter..

Next time hopefully.. have a great time!

:smoking

damn... really want to do this. I saw the pic of the granite face. I don't want to be SOL if you guys end up going through some crazy rocks. Both my buddy and I have SM's. I'll see what we can come up with. Can someone elaborate a little about the rods up there. We usally ride, tunitas, kings mountain in the bay area. Is this anything close to that?

The rock sections in the pics are pretty short and are on the option loop. They aren't representative of what most of the ride will be like. Most of it will be paved with some easy two track dirt and a bit of single track. There will be a mix of fast pavement on hwy 4, 50, 88 that is similar to 84/pescadero/9. Some paved goat trails like tunitas/alpine. Some well graded forest service roads. A bit of rocky/rutty two track. And the OHV trails, which can be more technically challenging with a few short difficult spots. Anyone should be able to do 99% of it. And if you can't do that 1%, we'll find a way to get your bike over it.

I'm OUT- Not that I was ever technically IN. Since I refused to stop riding and doing other fun activities the torn ligament in my finger hasn't healed properly. Just got told I need to do a re-splint and quit abusing the damn thing by bending it for extended periods of time. That includes no long moto and bike rides :mad

Uh, isnt everybody going to be on a SM?

This ride will be rather unusual for me, not only will i be on street tires but they actually have tread dept left.

Its looking like i am going to be on my CR500, those fuckers still havent gotten me the wheels yet so i have been able to do no gearing research, brake parts buying, or rides to figure out if the jetting is good.
And i am still getting "they should be here..." fukkin whatever. You would think that this being my 3rd wheel set purchase from them, plus a motomaster brake setup and who knows whatever else they wouldnt jerk me around like some punk wasting their time. Im not saying i think i am Mr Bigballer customer, but atleast be up front with me and not promise a delivery date which was completely unrealistic. I dunno, maybe im being an ass.

the CR has about a 70 mile range at worst, 110 at best so hopefully the route wont need to change on my behalf for fuel.

Then I would suggest you stay at or near the front. I fell on the last ride and had a hard time getting going again. I imagine the conversation farther up the trail went something like...

"Seen Brett?"
"Nah, you?"
"Nah, think he's okay?"
"Dunno, maybe, he have any beer?"
"Nah"
"Cool, let's hang here for awhile, see if he shows up."

Ruthless bastards would likely have left me for dead. Be warned, they have no compassion for the weak or low of fuel. :twofinger

but Brett we used your truck. I had to come back for you:rofl
and I had the beer...:twofinger
wish you could ride with us, next time! get better..
