Well, yeah, except that my understanding is that the new TOS allow someone who's been banned to re-apply after a year... so that means that the "seventh chance" is an option- otherwise, why have it in the TOS? And if someone has truly seen the error of their ways, then what have we got to lose by giving them a last chance?
Very true, the application was reviewed and it was denied. She can reapply in a year.
So, a fourth chance is too many for the ever vicous Bad Kitty. One set of rules for the membership, a different set of rules for her, ok. That is just proving that there is something special against her. There is either a standard or not, double standars on uncool in most peoples opinion.
Jon, you're certainly leaving out a few key pieces of info here. If you agree that we can have full disclosure, I am more than happy to spill the beans, with your approval.
I like you and Kendra, I really do, but Bad Kitty does not have a place on BARF for the time being.
The doors were opened for discussing these subjects by the posters in the thread, but fair enough. I would delete the post, but it has already been quoted.
Jon, Kendra, the creation of this thread, and the express violation of the terms we set when we allowed you to keep this account, namely that Kendra would never use it to post, is what opened the door to this discussion. Putting that on the members is passing the buck, and manipulative.
But I don't understand this:
If today's determination was that whatever BK did (years ago) was so heinous that she should not be re-instated today, why would it be different months from now? Will her actions be less heinous after the mods involved/affected are no longer mods? Will such heinous actions someday be an acceptable part of BARF? Is she going to write a better apology letter? It sounds like you've spent enough time on this, and there's been more than enough drama. Minimize future drama by telling Bad Kitty (and anyone else who has used up all nine of their BARF lives) "Never", and move forward. I'm tired of seeing troublemakers get "perma-banned", and then come back for another round of the same.
Hey Steve:
We created a policy to allow banned members a chance to return, because I think we all believe, to a certain degree, that people CAN change. We outlined the process for reinstatement, we found the request lacking in this instance, , and we rejected it. It does not mean that a further request, in another year, may not yield different results. It is however, an option, nothing more. A banned member may choose to make use of that option, or not. Bad Kitty did, and she failed to get reinstated.
Additionally, technically speaking, this reinstatement policy shouldn't apply to Bad Kitty. Since she was technically not "banned," well, at least not initially, and not for anything posted on this board.
