Earlier today was out at the Livermore airport... Just prior to getting across the field this
Pilatus PC-12, Turbo Prop had come in and parked in front of it's hanger. Talked with the pilot
as he was walking into the hanger. They, pilot and the owner, had just returned from Willows after
the owner finished a morning meeting. Ha, ha... Sure beats driving!!!

Since the hanger doors were open I asked the pilot about the Navy T28 Trainer in the hanger. He said it's undergoing
annual cleaning. Then he mentioned that the owner has another Pilatus, a PC-24, Turbo Fan over in the big hanger along with a P-51 Mustang.
Got to check out the North American T-28 for a few minutes as they were getting ready to fly off to another meeting down in So-Cal some place.

And a Pilatus PC-24 looks like this. It's bigger and FASTER than the PC-12 Turbo Prop.:cool::cool::p

A few shots of the T-28. Checkout the Cylinders on the Radial engine. The cylinder barrels and heads are one piece. To do the valves the cylinder is pulled and
the machine work is done from the bottom of the barrel. Below the large fins of the "head" on the barrel section there are aluminum cooling fins wrapped around and clamp in place over the barrels. The engine is R-1820 Cyclone 9-cylinder radial engine and rated at 1,425HP.

That T-28 is gorgeous! My wife and I stopped at Mojave airport on our way to Death Valley several years ago. There was a car show on the tarmac in front of the operations building and we were allowed to go out there. Also parked on the tarmac was a T-28 and this F-86. Not sure what happened to my T-28 pics.

Something unique about this B-47.

So crazy that there are BUFF's still in the air on active duty. Grandpa can still do the job.

They are finally putting new engines on them. More reliable (will never require removal from the aircraft), more thrust, more efficient (longer range / more flight time). They are also replacing the radar with a variation of the F-16 radar. That new radar allows the nose to be altered for improved aerodynamics.

B 47,
Not sure of the canopy/blister on the Navy B 47, hard to see, shaded, looks sleeker?
Tail hook missing, why a land based Navy bomber ?
The Navy got 2 EB-47’s from the USAF for use in electronic warfare. I’m not clear if they were used passively or actively.m, or both.

I was working at Plattsburg AFB in NY around 1981 and used to watch the Vermont ANG do touch and go's in their EB-57s. Unfortunately, I never got a picture.
