Alpinestars boot repair service

I sent in a pair of 5+ year old SMX+ boots that had a broken zipper on the left boot, the lace and loops for the draw string on the right innerboot was broken, both boots needed new heal plates and resoling.... they sent back the boots with two new innerboots, replaced both zippers, new heal plates, new soles, new toe sliders. They even buffed them out like new, with the exception of the burn marks from my exhaust :) Turn around time 2 weeks. Cost including shipping: $0. My positive promotion of Alpinestar and the likelihood to purchase future Alpinestar equipment based on this experience: Priceless.

This company has the best customer service experience I have ever had.

I had two pairs of SMX boots repaired - both had ground off parts where you attach the toe slider. I will support a company that give great customer service. You should too!

How did you get free shipping, etc........ the left boot's drawstring broke and it has been irking me since..

I have two pair of a* and one set are supertech's and several parts have broken on both, which pissed me off given what they cost. I swore never to buy another pair, but it is nice to see good customer service.

I called and told them the issues with the boots. They took down my contact info and gave me an RMA#. I sent them in and two weeks later they showed up on my doorstep. It was like Christmas.:teeth

I figured they would call and tell me how much the repairs were (with shipping) and I would pay at that point. They never contacted me.

I've also had good service with them. I needed a kneepad for a suit that was misplaced. I called them up, told them which suit it was, and they sent me a replacement free of charge.

I also needed a pair of Tech 8's soles' replaced. $80 and 2-3 weeks later they were good as new.

That's awesome. I've been looking for something as comfy as my old SMX3's for about three years now. I've worn through the soles and the toes are starting to come apart, but I still haven't found anything that fits me as good as they do. $80 is a freakin bargain.

BIG thankyou.

I was a little disappointed with the Dainese store AND Johnston leathers telling me they couldn't fix my $200 leather Dainese gloves, yet I was able to get them fixed for $25.00 through a local tailor. Different companies have totally different levels of customer service! Repaired gear FTW.

This thread is making the purchase of my first 1pc suit even easier. . .

It's rather nice to see a company offer customer service like that in this age of disposability. I still have those boots, and they still see a lot of use; when they start to fall apart again, I'll send them right back.

slow down, lets get her a state senate seat and see how that goes

I'll start right away on tweeting pics of my privates.

I also had sent a pair of SMX-Plus boots out for repair as the inner lace had broken which was very annoying.

Not only did they not charge me for shipping or repair for replacing the laces. But they also replaced the worn sole and zipper as they said the wear was "more then normal". I had the boots back in ~2 weeks :teeth This was a few years ago, but the customer service was great and I have purchased a pair of SMX-R boots since and won't think twice about buying more Alpinestar boots in the future if they can't keep repairing my old ones.

Ja, I'm not very kind to my gear...

They did do a good job! It was $80 (including shipping back); I think that number might change according to what you need done, since I mailed the boots there and then got the quote.

Call 310-891-0222 and ask for boot repair.

That's ridiculously cheap, considering that a simple resole for a pair of dress shoes is $65 or more. :thumbup

Reduce, reuse, repair, reuse, recycle...

I sent my 2-year old waterproof Roam boots in for repair about a month ago. The velcro was wearing out, the soles were worn, and, most importantly, the outer layer of boot where my foot hit the shifter was gone, leaving a hole for water to run through. (The boots had a reinforced shifting pad on the toe, but it was too small, so I ended up shifting on the regular boot).

After a few days, they called me and let me know the boots were unrepairable. But, they wanted to stand by their products and thought they should have lasted longer than that, so they sold me a new pair on the same line at a significant discount. They didn't have any in stock in the USA, so they had to wait for one from Europe, but they arrived today. I noted they are a newer edition of the boot with a much larger shifting pad.

When you call the number, a real person answers right away. Both times I've waited for the automated menu options to be listed, so I leave an awkward silence for the person on the other line. I was disappointed they couldn't fix my boots, but I was happy with the outcome and the customer service I received.

I had my boots repaired (zipper) for free (paid return shipping) as well. I think Astars has excellent customer service. I will be their customer for as long as they maintain current standard of quality and service. I had bad Givi CS experience (or not as par as Astar).

My SVX boots are on their way back as we speak. Mailed them out UPS on January 3rd, just received confirmation yesterday that they are getting sent out today. Was $70.00 for the resole. Stay tuned for an update of the finished product and pictures soon.

Looks great!

I will chime in and say they did a poor job on a suit repair they did for me last year. They did little, charged too much ($150 if I remember correctly), and took way too many weeks, around 6 weeks.

The suit was so rare they had never seen it before, so I will give them that, but they could not even order basic alpinestars labels that are sown on the suit.

So for suit repair try Zooni Leathers or other local guys.

The suit was an all black perforated SMX2.
