Annual Newbie ride, 2009 (Sat, 4/25)

IN I can lead sweep scout or whatever you need.

Okay, so I am looking at this route and it appears to be very twisty...fun.... but very twisty. The hubby and I are very much noobs.... only have 600 miles on our first starter bike and 80 on my Ninja. So between us only about 400 miles each of two-wheeler experience which has been spread out over the last few years. Maybe this isn't a good route for someone so new to do??

I think we could probably handle it if the pace was right and it would be a great place for us to learn, but shit.... we've never even been on the freeway and we just got our M1 yesterday.

What do you all think?

Gazos Creek and Swanton are likely to be the worst of it, but they're pretty short. The pace should be pretty slow and there's always a sweeper even if the rest of the group takes off.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Alright, I'll give it some thought.

sign me up boss man. i'll probably have to cut out after lunch since i have to work but i can make the first half.

Co-worker told me about this site and I have been looking to do some group rides and this sounds perfrect and a great fit. I am a new rider, right at about 1000 miles. Please add me to this ride. RL name is Brad

Now I just have to figure out how to get out there, I hate riding on the Freeway and I live in Tracy...

Looking forward to my first group ride. Hope to learn a lot and have some fun too:) Kokuno/Peter

Mike, I know we probably don't want to be "closing" the sign-up for any new riders that definitely want to join, even if they can't sign up until the last minute, but is there a sort of deadline for the sake of the volunteers to know whether or not they're definitely going to be needed for that day?

I ask because if it's certain that I'll be needed, maybe I'll organize a group ride to the meet spot for new riders near my area as another incentive for the new and somewhat further-away riders to join.

I can never be sure how many will show Dennis. That said I think your idea of
organizing a group ride to the meet spot is a great one:thumbup

Most of the leads/sweeps plan to be there needed or not = Free lunch:laughing:laughing

Just wanted to let everyone know......Fred from Hollister Honda has generously donated this years lunch. Great guy as many of you know, and the shop there is first rate.

Thanks Fred!
