Annual Newbie ride, 2009 (Sat, 4/25)

awesome ride, thanks so much to the organizers for putting it on. i learned a lot and feel much more confident on my bike now. i was the guy on the versys, it drew a bit more attention than i expected (thanks for the kind words!) i hope to participate in more BARF rides in the future.

Thanks for organizing this Mike... awesome job! And also to Group #4's lead (Curt) and sweep (Jon). We had a good group and came out without incidents (besides a tricky start button on ArgyleSushi's bike). Great meeting more of the BARF community in person. I will definately get my recently MSF'd brother out to the next newbie group ride.

Big Ups to Group #13!! :thumbup

Lead was great, Sweep was great.
First time for me on most of those roads and wont make it my last.
I'm bad with names, Thanks to my group member for topping off my tank on our way back up 9, thats what ridding is about :ride
Ill get you next time.

I was a little nervous about a 150+ bike turnout but it was well organized, great crowd, great sponsors. Great Job Mightslip (Mike)!:thumbup

Ditto, ditto, ditto, and ditto. Thanks to everyone who made it a wonderful and safe day!:applause:applause:applause

Big thanks to the organizers, and to the gents who lead and swept group 15. Learned a lot from the ride, now I know I gotta stretch before every ride.

Thanks everyone for the ride, especially the organizers (can't beat bikes and doughnuts)! It was a great intro to the community. Hope to go on some more mellower rides and meet the rest of you all soon.

It was great to meet everyone in Grp 22 -- fun ride and nice pace on the ride back!

thanks for the awesome ride....

ninja from group #2 chiming in... This was my first ever group ride and the first time I ever saw so many cool bikes at one place. I haven't stopped telling my friends about the awesome day we had! :teeth

A big :thumbup to all the organizers, leads and sweeps. Can't wait to get back on those roads again to :ride

Great turnout! A big thanks to all organizers. As a new rider, this couldn't turn out more perfect! Responsible and fun riders! I would definitely recommend this to all newbies! Thanks guys for a great ride! :thumbup

Group #23

I wanted to thank Dodge and Cintia for leading/sweeping group 16! We had a great group and a nice pace. :ride

This was my first group ride, first BRAF event, and first time on those particular roads, and will not be the last of any of those! :thumbup I had a great time, met some great people, and got some good practice on the twisties.

I'm seeing some great pictures from the event too, which is nice. Next time I wont forget my own camera, :mad and maybe get some nice action shots to post up for everyone.

Thanks again to everyone who made this happen, mike and all the volunteers, as well as leads/sweeps of all the other groups too!

Hey. what's up man. Looks like you ducked out before I got a chance to say a proper farewell, good riding with you!

Yes, I'm glad we got Dodge/Cintia, they were pretty cool, I doubt our pace was what you'd call "newbie" but I learned a whole lot riding behind more experienced riders, and felt more confident following someone else for a change.

Thanks again!

Yeah, sorry for disappearing, I had plans that evening which i didn't realize were quickly approaching. We'll have to meet up on another ride some time.

I would agree about the pace, but I appreciated it. :thumbup You guys lost my fat cruiser ass at one point, but most of it I think I kept up pretty well. :cool

And remind me to take 9 down to Santa Cruz next time; that single lane 35-to-summit rd-to-17 sucked. :rolleyes

My first official Newbie group ride...kinda scary... came prepared with my safety gear on, boots and all... Almost gave up because I was completely outside my comfort zone (twisties and hairpins)...but thanks to the sweep in Group 18...kept me going! Finished the AM session and then off to Santa Cruz. Had a blast and will definately do it again... would be nice to see more female riders out there...

glad to hear you kept going Angie. I wouldnt think you're a newbie since you also have an R1. And yes I agree, it would be nicer to see more female riders :p

Thanks to all for organizing this. So glad that I actually made it, a bit late, but made it nonetheless.
...
It was good riding with you. I hope you were able to get your left mirror fixed. You got a sexy bike there, dude. See you around.:thumbup
