Idiots cannot form their own opinions so they piggy back on someone else's opinion thrust on them.
You know what this means? The few Americans who actually read are less likely to read it after being recommended by Hugo.
P.S. Feanor you really need to get on with the program, dude. This was already posted and heavily debated on BARF. Looks like people are going to re-argue about it again
Yeah, I know, I totally lost the bubble on this one... I think I stumbled across the footage while searching youtube for Contour motorcycle footage. Weird what kind of things pop up in searches, and what things don't!
Seems like the embers were still pretty hot from the previous debate though. A lot of lines of thought left with a significant void of satisfaction...
I don't have the clarity of thought to really absorb anything from watching gun camera footage except the rudimentary technology involved. I understand some of the reasoning about why we're there, and what we're trying to accomplish, but on the other side, I watch people get blown apart by gunfire and I can't seem to bring myself to feel good about it.
It really doesn't feel like the answer no matter what these people have done to "us" It feels like every 30mm round that impacts creates 5 more "terrorists" until the overriding concern doesn't become "stopping" it, but continued ammunition production.
I consider myself a patriot, but when I was watching the Obama motorcade driving by my parents house, I noticed that the house across the street was flying that thin vertical red white and blue pendant flag with 2 stars on it... I haven't seen that flag on his house in decades, I remember they used to always fly it on July 4th and Veteran's Day, and my Dad told me it was because there were two sons who used to live there that were both killed in Vietnam...
I was curious if they were flying that flag in pride, or if there was another more pressing reason it was being displayed for the President to see?
It's often a simple thing to send yourself off to war, or not, to feel emboldened by patriotic fervor, or dissent over the idea of the tragic loss of life... Good men (and women) definitely need to do something to keep the world safe and peaceful... But though your young heart might glow with thoughts of heroic loyalty, would it be the same if you were watching your children go off to war?
I think that the basic qualifications for a United States President is that they be a citizen, born in the US or naturalized herein, and have Sons or Daughters in active military service. I wonder how often "police actions" or "efforts to protect beleaguered countries from oppressors" would be declared then?
