Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

Unfortunately, it is looking as they will not be made. Once again, they offered them, but not enough dealers placed orderes for them to justify putting them into production. It is possible they could become available later in the year, but I am not holding my breath at this point.

As for the tobacco color, there isn't anything in that exact color that was used on the Stripes jacket, but there are several new "vintage" inspired jackets that use various browns in their schemes.

We actually offer a cleaner/conditioner kit for all of our leathers that should be used at least a couple of times a year, possibly more depending on your situation, but truth be told, there are plenty of products available that will do the job nicely such as Leathermasters or Luxol.

There is a camp out there that claims cleaning and conditioning leather is a no-no, but that is completely false. Leather is a hide that must be kept clean and hydrated to retain it's mechanical strength as well as it's elasticity, both of which play a huge role in how abrasion resistant the material will be. If you do not clean out the salts that accumulate in the pores of the hide from your sweat and dirt, that salt will crystalize and sit in the pores, grinding the leather into a soft, pulpy mess that will not hold up to an impact or slide.

As I stated, I recommend a complete cleaning and conditioning at least twice a year, regardless of how much a suit is used. If you sweat a great deal, do it after every track day or hardy riding session. If you ride in the rain frequently, I recommend you clean and condition more often as well.

Definitely not recommended. You would run a good chance of damaging the waterproof membrane. I would simply clean it with a damp sponge using a mild detergent like Woolite. Febreeze is also a handy tool in keeping out the funk.

I'm afraid that isn't available yet. Dainese jumped the gun by putting alot of the 2010 line up on the website when much of it has not even gone into production yet. It should be available closer to Spring.

HELIMOT can make Custom Suits in 6 to 8 weeks.Made in the USA.And the can repair and service the suit of course for many years.The Suits are not last years model ,because all of them are Custome made and are not based on mass fashion or every new year COLLECTION program.

However the work on a lots of crash repair on Dainese and Alpinestar, as far as I have seen.Their repair work is not cheap, but man the repaired part comes out better then the rest of the suit. My next suit is again a HELIMOT suit.I think its maybe not a bad choice,since the Master Taylors are here in the Bay Area.

Comparing Helimot to Dainese is like comparing apples to oranges. Not to say Helimot are not good suits, they most definitely are, but they have a completely different design philosophy than Dainese. I won't get into the pro's and con's as I respect Helimot and find it tacky to make attacks on public forums. Apples and oranges.

We also handle suit repairs in the U.S. either locally, or at our SoCal repair facility. As for the "last year's" comment, I don't even know what you are attempting to say there. All suits in the current line up are available for custom builds, as well as the "Track" suit that most of our sponsored riders use in MotoGP and WSBK, with the expection of Marco Simmoncelli who prefers the double zip suits.

That is an older suit that has been discontinued for years. It is a 48, and would be too large given your stats. You would be closer to a 46. You may be tempted to wear a 48 anyway, but it will be far too loose and not be able to protect you properly. I'd wait until your proper size comes along.
