August Ames porn**** rip

A question I always have is how many of these (young) women are going to handle this decision later should they not stay in the business, and then try to move onto another profession... Once you've gone into hi-def digital porn, you're out there, and these days, there's very little hiding from it.

You just put it on your resume along with listing any AVN awards you may have won. What's to hide?

I have to ask you what this means.

Well, if your a fan of porn, your love of it doesn't have to span decades such as mine does, you'll know that Ms. Ames was pure quality porn. I think the worst I've ever seen of her is doing it in a bathroom stall and she was quite attractive.

What does being a porn actor qualify you to do above and beyond those of us who don't have sex on film?

I mean, several porn actors have broken into mainstream acting and are pretty much household names (Ron Jeremy, etc), but these people are the exceptions.

Got it. She was hot.

On the topic of class, barf could always extend forum protection to all people instead of certain categories(i.e. motorcyclists).

It's a good topic. People always go after bullies, but it's only half the equation, imo. Couple thoughts I usually convey to the kid when discussing the subject is of course to condemn bullying, but also how ridiculous it is to give idiots that much power. I figure I can't stop other people from being pieces of shit, but maybe I can help her apply the correct value to their words.

While she was being attacked online, she was being attacked for the controversial things she said. Are all attacks bullying? Are all critiques invalid? She did not kill herself because of this event, she killed herself because she was clearly depressed and potential mentally ill.

If you don't want to be attacked for the things you say, you're free not to post controversial topics on Twitter. Perhaps she could have hired Butters to filter all the mean comments out? It goes with the burden of fame and running your mouth online.

I'm thinking in the context of non-entertainment professions for the "1 & Done"-ers.

Ex: Young woman @ 18 does porn out of a need for money, then same woman 10 years later gets a job at an office, something along those lines.

How many women regretted their appearances on the "Girls Gone Wild" videos later in life? :dunno

I'm not sure where I'd personally draw the line between a comment, agressive comment, attack, bullying, etc. But, I do know that whether or not something is warranted, it doesn't change what the response is. It just means it was the same thing *and* maybe it was warranted. We all screw up and do something dumb, or think dumb things at various points in our lives, so the message I convey to the kid essentially fits all scenarios. If something was her fault, she needs to get through it so that she's there to realize it, then improve. Or, it wasn't her fault and she's able to get through it because she didn't give them that level of power. Either way, it's my job to prepare her and not just hope the world will be a nice place.

I didn't realize that's what you were trying to convey. Yes, of course I agree.

It was just an additional thought. Some people communicating with her were attacking, some were bullying, and some were just negatively commenting.

What she wrote was a warning. Common in the industry. It should not have been controversial.

I think it was backlash related to #metoo, to women speaking out.

I had performers opt out of working with me because in spite of a clean STD panel because I was known as an amateur and a kinkster first, working.performer second. Same for Mrs., same for some of our friends. No drama, just people choosing to be comfortable.

The backlash she got was out of line, and in our experience atypical. I think she got a raw deal, wrong place at the wrong time.

Hopefully it will be destigmatized. And that starts in communication like what's happening here.

American puritanical conditioning in relation to sex has been going on for a very, very long time.

In many parts of the country it is going to continue into the future, some politicians would like to make views even more extreme.

Utah is not the south. Just sayin'. Perhaps checking facts instead of buying into tropes and assumptions might help to fix things.

The South really, really likes its porn.

According to Pornhub‘s 2016 year in review, many of the website’s top 10 U.S. states that “last the longest” (aka spend the most time on the website) are located in the South. Taking the title for longest time spent on the site is Mississippi with 11 minutes and 8 seconds, followed by Alabama and Arkansas.

Perhaps checking facts instead of buying into tropes and assumptions might help to fix things for you.
