Bad crash

If you are rounding a corner doing a ton, you cannot expect good things to happen or the truck to see you.

:rip :rose

The article was brief, most cause speculation is just that.

this is a city street with a 40 mph speed limit. does this look like a 40 mph crash? RIP rider.

Rip. So sad i wish riders would just be a little safer on the road.

Looks similar to that Harley crash pic from a while back, where it was clear that the rider was hauling ass and didn't anticipate the fucktard move by the truck.

Ride defensively and slow down when there's potential cross traffic. It'll save your life. Daily.

Simple physics, look it up. 40mp vs. a nigh-immovable object moving in the opposite direction? Yep, that will grenade the much-lighter participant.

(Doubt the rider was doing "a ton," BTW.)

Speculation, poor judgment perhaps, followed by more speculation.
Don't really see how target fixation plays in to this tho.
Sad we lost another one, regardless of what happened.

I've hit semi at much less speed, forks bent into radiator, broken/lacerated nose and lacerated left temple with aria helmet. No fragmented parts thrown all over. Its same as riding into a wall. My condolences.

I bumped my tire into the back of a semi trailer and it exploded in a ball of feathers: Buell.

Consider physics. 400 pound bike, 150-200 pound rider. Moving at 40mph.

Truck, possibly weighing anywhere from 40k-100k pounds, moving at anywhere from 5-15 mph.

Puts the riders delta about the same as 45-55mph into a 4' thick brick wall.

Yes, there is going to be a SHIT TON of damage, mostly to the bike.
