I know a ton of subreddits are like the wild wild west but the subreddits I browse are pretty tame. I've never been banned from reddit.

Nobody is getting banned usually posting on r/raccoons. :p

P.S. Those of you that quit [insert social media platform] because reasons know you have power to control your content right? Not completely, obviously, but social media is like a tree. You can't really complain the tree in your yard is growing out of control if you don't cut some branches here and prune it there. :dunno Can you use that power to create a weird and potentially toxic echo chamber? Sure. But yeah, I guess if the tree is too much work then you just chop it down.

If I'm really in the mood for some social medial drama, reddit doesn't have shit on nextdoor.com. :laughing

The lack of control is why I left FB, spend less time on IG, and try to stay away from 'Home' on Reddit. I want to see what my friends are doing and the subs I follow and that's about it. The algorithms are too successful at mixing in other things that will invoke some response, to my detriment. 'Latest' on Reddit is the perfect feed because it's only things I want to see.

I feel you on that. Every time I Look at FB I wonder why I bother. I see more trash from things designed to make me feel a way than I do from actual people I care about. I "hide/block" all of it but it makes no difference. It's an endless parade of garbage. I don't think there is anything to do but abandon the platform which would be a bit disappointing. There is some content there I do want to see.

I realize that San Francisco Reddit which I have not been banned from is pretty much just as good as AskReddit
