Luis Arraez is just amazing. I am sure Tony Gywnne would agree. Another well deserved Allstar.

Casey deserved it too but three players from a sucky team is a big ask.
 
Skubal to the Dodgers is just nuts.

They have enough stars for two starting pitcher rotations.

Angels traded 7 players, 5 of them pitchers.

I'm curious if the Dodgers will try to extend Skubal just to get him inked to a deal before the off season starts with all of the CBA shenanigans, and possibly get hm before (if) there's a salary cap.

The rich get richer. I just learned today that the dodgers have a sweetheart tv deal that allows them to not share the normal amount required because they went bankrupt some years ago. Huge $$ advantage for them.

There's been a "Tarps Off" ...uh... "movement" at Angels stadiums. Folks chanting "Arte sucks" and "Sell the team".

Very endearing.

Seem to have been quiet past few games.
 
Kid went to Pokeman night.. she had a blast.

Giants won, fans brought their own Pokeman fun and a few fan waves were successful.

Angels are going to finish August by having the best pitching in MLB for the month, combined with the worst offense in MLB for the month.

That came out of nowhere.

The internetz is abuzz about change and how awful Arte was. We'll see what happens. Nothing short term save all the prices going up, I'm betting.

Stadium move probably in the next 5 years. Whether we'll be better than 3rd in the AL West, can't say anything about that.

We'll see.

Ah...to be married upon third base in life....

Angel's will win the WS within the next 10-years. All his teams are winners.

They can build a stadium next to SoFi, but they'd have to deal with LAX air traffic so it may not be that easy. Dodger fans may be like "That's too close!" Bitches please. SoFi is 10 miles away from Dodger stadium. Yankees/Mets are closer and so are Cubs/White Sox. Hell, even the A's/Giants were 10miles apart...in a "smaller" market.

They can build right next to the old one because the parking lots are HUGE. Depends on what the city of Anaheim is willing to do.

The original plan Arte has was to build a new stadium on the current site (there's lots of room there too), build a parking complex to stack cars, level the old stadium and build up a mixed used housing and "entertainment district" of sorts around it. But that fell through, not so much it seemed from the plan, but apparently there were shenanigans going on in city hall the derailed it.

I have to give a bit of a thumbs down to the city of Anaheim. Apparently, just last week a state bill was signed that essentially says "If the Angels are renamed "Anaheim Angels", then when the new renovation is done, they don't have to meet any of those pesky low income housing project quotas". Just seemed a bit selfish of Anaheim to throw those potential families under the bus for a branding opportunity.

When they were looking before, there was talk of consideration of moving to either Long Beach or even the City of Industry looking for a new stadium site. I don't know if the new owners will look into that, or if Anaheim will be extra friendly to the new owners. The stadium (owned by Anaheim) is leased to the Angels through '32 (I think).
 
Oh, and speaking of the SF Giants, what the cognoscenti opinion on the new manager? Is the Giants season all his fault? They going to keep him another year? I haven't been following to closely, but the G's haven't been having a banner year to be sure.

I have no expectations that the Angels will keep Kurt Suzuki next year.
 
It certainly is not his fault even though his batting average is .000.

I think Buster agrees since he got a one year extension.
 
Buster gave Bob Melvin a vote of confidence then booted his arse. Tony should stay. Maybe getting rid of the third base coach was enough.

One of the major aspects of which a manager has control is a bullpen. Tony was given a poor one. Rookie MLB debut and Buster hands him a relief corps that was not ready. Keep Tony, keep Buster and hopefully the young talent plays,, as well acquiring some free agent help.
