Bay Area Group Ride Video- by Maxwrist

Oh for Dogs sake. There is so much wrong with this. Video starts with the camera bike completely blowing a turn( Obvious target fixation) and almost hitting a car head on. The response? "Hyuk hyuk hyuk", giggling like a moron. The crash was on Bear Creek Road. Again, a clear example of target fixation and basically running off the road.The area it happened is the East side where it is really tight. And I really don't understand the camera bike behavior. He pulls over to let his buddies by, then proceeds to pass them all, over and over. I guess he's "Showing them how it's done"
I hope they stick around SoCal so they can crash on Muholland instead of here.

As much as I dislike the riding behavior, the one thing I get is the passing over and over. We have a member of our riding group that is a very accomplished rider and was a pro road racer at one point in his life. He is into videography now and records our yearly 3 day ride for us. He will hang back, let everyone pass him and then work his way up through the pack. He gets some great recordings of us and it's fun to see. He does this all through the day, sometimes riding way out in front of us and then recording as we go by but the best videos are of him working his way up through the pack.
 
Wait, didn't the rider who crashed ("Two Wheel Jesus") proudly boast that he had no front brakes when they had all stopped in Boulder Creek? :wtf
 
Ok, so maybe Target Fixation wasn't to blame...MAYBE. But riding that pace with a bike with blown fork seals and oil soaked brakes is just criminal stupidity.
They all seem very proud of themselves. After all " It's happened before. It will happen again."

That is exactly what I was thinking. It's almost a given based on where they are.
 
Well... well.

Some crazy riding, some good and some shitty riding.. blowing the DY like that? :wow That shows what happens to riders that don't have the skill set when riding with riders that are more skilled than they and they try to keep up. Deadly situation. Some super bad decisions made.

The filming and editing skillset was cool.. I will say that.

Being a hooligan is what some of us do at times.
That was over the top in my view... wheeling by cars and slamming DY passes when cars are coming the other way / essentially splitting them.

And they are from So Cal don't know the roads or expected road conditions during a time of year where the roads up in the mountains can be sketchy.

And.. no front brake Jesus!!:wtf

Plus a road trip while SIP protocols are ordered and the hooliganism.. pretty much tells me these dudes are not responsible motorcyclists..:laughing

I hate that I still enjoyed a lot of it. :nchantr

The comments are a good indicator that being a bad ass rider is a cool thing that many appreciate and aspire too.

Heel doesn't help, since you're already tip-toeing on a tall bike. Need more material under the toes. I had some of my wife's boots re-soled for that once.
 
I was discussing this vid with another crazy boy... like I was at 20.

I came to the conclusion that sane insane people race instead of showing off on the street. Probably kept me alive.
 
Whenever I meet a new student, the first thing I ask them is why they want to ride. If they say because it's "cool" or want to impress the girls, we are done. If they don't take this sport deadly serious, I am not going to work with them.

What I don't understand is why the authorities have not shut him down, and why YT lets it go on given how they've treated other, much more benign channels? His main channel has more subscribers that we have confirmed coronavirus cases, and it seems every one of his vids features extreme felonious reckless driving. He even says his group rides are the most insane.
 
Yeah! Your own videos can be used against you in court! Guy with F-40 got busted for bunch of charges after posting video of going 200+. Seems like unlimited number of violations and citation bounty here!
 
Meh, those guys never seem to get busted.
Meanwhile I'm the guy that gets dinged for 2 minutes after the meter expires.
The blanket of justice has some holes in it.

The idea that being a "Badass rider is a cool thing" only applies to people with weak self image and an inferiority complex. I think most of us, starting out, tried to ride beyond our abilities. Some riders, particularly male, don't want to seem weak, to be a " pussy". That's the attitude that maims and kills them. A guy, who clearly has the skills to pull wheelies all over, who still has that childish attitude, needs to grow up. And, unfortunately, it's usually the slower guys in a group that pay the price. A male ego can carry a high price.

It was his group rides and comments about them that inspired my post. Someone is gonna die and it might not even be one of the riders. I see his goading style.
 
I just watched the face expose today. It is up.
Young dude. I bet he is making OK $$ from his stuff.
