BMW G650 X series input (vs. DR650)

LOL. John, riding the sheet iron on a vintage bike is very high on the short list of to do's in the next couple of years....

Plated (legally) CR500 or GTFO

Kawasaki utterly dominated the Baja 1000 under the leadership
of Team Green Czar Mark Johnson. He hired Larry Roeseler in 1987,
and the two of them put together a program that proved unbeatable
from 1988 to 1996. The riders who took their turns winning the
Baja Mill for Kawasaki was a very impressive list: Roeseler himself,
Ted Hunnicut, Ty Davis, Danny Hamel, Danny LaPorte, Paul Krause,
Greg Ziterkopf, Paul Ostbo, and even Marty Smith.

... KX500 ... god bless Kawasaki ... :laughing

Since OMC sponsor the Sheetiron ... you may be aware they have an impressive archive going back to late 1940's/50's. Some of it resides at the clubhouse. (I think?)

Lots of guys rode HD and Indians in the JackHammer Enduro way back then. Also a OMC sponsored event ... since forever.

I've met and talked to a few of the old guys about the history of the club. Great stuff. What? No OMC members here?
(i've done 4 Jackhammer's ... big respect to the guys back then riding the old American Iron (and some British) in that terrain.

Nice historical shots! Any former PMA (Pacifica Motorcycle assoc.) members here? Anyone here ride the property?

Dave Bertram (ISDE medal winner, founder of Cycle Gear) used to do Cycle Gear sponsored seminars in late 80's/early 90's. He invited Roeseller to speak.

Larry talked about Enduro bike set up. Bertram chimed in too. Best advice I've ever heard. :thumbup
God Bless Kawasaki indeed. :thumbup (I raced KX250R only one season ... went back to Yamaha. :teeth)

Sheetiron on a ‘74 XL250

Hey All,

I rode my first Sheetiron last year on my 1974 XL250 and planning on doing again this year. It was awesome (with the exception of the few added fast freeway sections). Would love to hook up with some other vintage dualsports. Check out a little vid if interested.

My hotel roommate in Ft. Bragg went down to reload the rollchart on his beautiful KTM 690 on Saturday night and got trapped for 30 minutes talking to people about my bike parked beside it. 😂

Hope to meet ya this year. 👍
