I saw that Mercedes F1 car at Sears Point a few years back. Watching it attack the course in person was something I'll never forget. One of those rare moments that makes everyone wish they'd been there. Former F1 driver Esteban Gutiérrez put the Mercedes-AMG W07 around Sonoma in 1:15.430, just edging the standing IndyCar lap record of 1:15.520 set by Josef Newgarden. The difference on paper was only a tenth of a second, but seeing that F1 car brake, corner, and change direction in person was absolutely unreal. Anybody else here lucky enough to see it?
