Cars that make your jaw drop.

I believe fiddle brakes (English term), are used on exhibition cars that fly the fronts, all the way to the lights.
Rear axle separate steering brakes, also used in a form of auto trials, controlling an open differential, in mud.

They do try and use rear tire pressure to help stay straight .

That launch photo is ridiculous! The motorcycle guys on BARF think wheelies are cool until a Mopar starts doing them.
When the front end is in the air like that, are you still steering or just hanging on and letting physics sort it out?
Serious respect for anyone who can wheelie a car.

That Road Runner is badass. The "WILE B8" plate is perfect. Most of us would be happy just running 10s.
You're out there running 10s through the mufflers while carrying the front wheels like it's part of the setup.
Looking at that picture, I'm starting to think the wheelie is built into the dial-in.Honest question: at what point does carrying the front end become normal operating procedure?
Super Pro is one of the most difficult classes in Drag Racing…..
Respect.

Thank you guys, most of it is luck and yes physics and trusting the car as with the weight set up it will go straight provided air in the tires is equal and nothing under one tire (oil/etc.). In that picture it was about the 10th pass on a new Aluminum block 572" wedge that I had just installed so quite a bit more torque then the previous 505" high compression race gas motor and about 100 lbs less weight than I had previosly ran. It was almost on the rear valance when I left and started coming down at a controlled rate but when it hit 2nd gear it came back up again and ran about 300' out before coming back down. It was an elimination round so I road it out, you don't want to lift unless not going straight as you risk hurting the chassis. After that run which I lost I went home and installed wheelie bars and also a MSD Grid ignition system. That Grid ignition is amazing in that you can tune the car with a laptop and take ignition timing out of it to soften the hit. I take about 12* degrees of timing out and ramp it back in in about 1.5 seconds so it really is effectice traction control and keeps the 60' times consistent. I added it to our road runner as well as it's running on 9" drag radials. Basiclly it takes about 3/10's out of the performance (9.33 instead of 9.03) but what you gain on consistency is huge. So the wheelie's are just part of the chassis set up and typically consistent given equal track prep.

Here's some old bad footage aftre the wheelie bars/Grid:

And the Road Runner, same motor but muffled and old paint at Sacramento Raceway:

Haha, I like the concept and execution, but what happens if he tries to put that power down on those 4 inch wide tires?

Corvette Coup. Fucking sedan.

Ha, I just saw this yesterday speaking of extra doors where they don't belong.
At first glance I thought why do the wheels look so small and then I saw it, and I can't unsee it

We are alike and soooo opposite in ways; the color scheme is was drew me in.

Agree...seems a bit of a hassle. Then again. if $15K buys it (it won't), I'd be happy enough. I went to sleep thinking: I should pass on her and use those funds to finish the latest "project"....
Sold for 28.... That is Well Sold I'd say

4 Door Cars are often overlooked……
I had many of them….back in the day we could find them cheap and beat the shit out of them flat tracking them before sending them to the junk yard ….

This one is nice …

As for this GMAuthority rendering... that thing is pretty fugging ugly!

Now if you want a 4 door "sleeper" Z06 look no further.

When I was down at Spring Mountain last month there was a GM/Cadillac engineer in the group. He was/is involved with Nürburgring testing with both the Vettes and Caddies. He said that percentage wise more Cadillac owners use their cars in track events (Road race, autocross, drag racing, etc.) than Vette owners.

I've always had a thing for old trucks.
This '73 C10 Cheyenne Stepside has been with me for over 40 years.
I bought it for $1,500 and traded my Caprice woody wagon with a 396 to get it. It came with a big-block 454 and has been in my garage ever since. It isn't perfect, but that's exactly why I love it.
The current engine is a .060-over 454 with studs, a steel crank, a Clay Smith cam, stainless roller rockers, and headers. It's backed by a Turbo 400 transmission with 3.08 rear gears. Nothing exotic, just old-school big-block Chevrolet power.
The funny part is that it still has a non posi differential. If both tires hooked up, things might get really interesting. As it is, once that one tire starts spinning, it'll pretty much burn rubber for as long as you're willing to stay in the throttle.
It's been driven, worked on, and enjoyed instead of sitting in a museum.
These old Chevys have personality that newer trucks just can't match.
Thought I'd share a few pictures of an old friend that's still hanging around after all these years.
