My max Valks finished over last weekend so i have been practicing GoVaHo attacks 3 times a day. Practicing over Multiplayer isn't exactly the same as War attacks, but generally I have just been picking Mid-TH9 or above with Secured cores with either a full DE or TH in the core. A lot of bases have TH's out and their DE protected in the cores.
I can reliably get 2 stars 70%+ but my placement of hogs is the determining factor in getting the 3 star. It's really getting the timing of placing the hogs ahead of the core attack once the defenses start targeting back to the core and hitting the golem/hero/valk brigade.
I am using:
2 Level 3 Golem
8 Max Valks
5 level 5 Wall Breakers
9 level 5 Wizards
10 Max Hogs
11 BK / 14 AQ
6 Max Hogs in the CC
1 Jump, 1 Rage, 2 Heal.
Starting today I am going to try 2 haste instead of 1 rage.

Feh. Had bases in my ranking swooped by scaredy cat higher members this war. End result is my attacks looked like shit and I had to reach higher for only two stars.
Upside is I got easy 2 stars with my second GoWiPe war. Getting the third is the hard part

I really like using Clash Caller. Prevents stuff like that. Plus when someone drops 5+ down we can make fun of them before the war starts. Lol
We encourage people not to use GoWiPe for that very reason. Try backend hogs. 5 hogs and 1 less pekka. Drop them near the end of the raid. Loons work too if you prefer. I forget if you made th9 yet
Still th8. I'll try the hogs. Loons are too slow. Pekkas will be going to 3 in a few days, so that'll be nice. My hogs are still only 2, so it's still going to be forever until I have decent troops for war.

it is a genius strategy. he counts on the matchup like about a TH6. 2 or 3 of those types of bases in a big war can really make for an advantageous match up.

i have been using it, to pretty good effect. but i use loons over hogs.
and 1 lvl 5 golem(CC)
maybe my lvl 2 golem or valks depending on path
12-16 lvl 3 valks
8-10 wizards
8-10 loons
4-6 WBs
10 king/queen
1 jump, 2 heal, 1 rage(or 2nd jump) 1 poison( used on arch wiz, or minions or saved for air skeletons)

5 golems and the rest wizards. Pew Pew! It's amazing! Use 3 jump spells and 2 heals.

We have been seeing that a lot lately against our TH10s with some success (mainly 2 stars).
The new one that is all the rage right now is super queen. It's just a super slow attack style.

i hate both of these attacks. i am a TH9 and there is no way to stop that damn queen. i have managed to twice, but i was completely left open to most other attacks.
it involved my sair sweepers pushing the healers away, her finding my giant bomb, and all 4 teslas around my DE with my xbow going.
atleast the golem one is expensive and slow. the queen you can basically attack almost immediately.

No, I don't war without the queen. I opt into war when she finished and then go right back into upgrading her. Upgrade takes 7 days (it seems to cap out there), so I end up warring less than once a week.
