I have not heard of knife hands being excluded from the Corps. The only incident I am aware of where a Marine was punished for using a knife hand was against a Kuwaiti General Officer as the good General was driving like an asshole.

I know this because it was my Marine and I gave him a high fuckin five and a cigarette.

I started researching it, and the ban looks like it came out on April 1, 2013. I don't know if it was just an April Fools joke that got out of hand.

I say no, but then again I'm not a pussy with an overanxious mother at home constantly hovering over my well-being.

I've had my share of knife hands, and in turn dealt them. It's a part of Marine Corps culture.
