Exactly. Just like in the original comic the boy promises to never take what the tree gives us for granted, and the comic ends with him using the paper to feverishly draw a dick butt.

It is juvenile and stupid, and that in itself is the point.

Unexpected. I think that you might want to look up the definition. Is BARF's stupidity *really* unexpected, in your experience?
