Costco gas station....um

I go to Costco Livermore 3 times a month to fill up and all the times I’ve been there everyone behaves themselves.
Going early is good- no lines.

I usually save $4-5 per tank fill up at Costco plus I get 4% back and I do that once a week so it adds up.

If I’m not going there at 6am for free gas I’m certainly not going there to save five bucks :x

I’ll skip coffee that day to make up for it.
But then I don’t drink coffee, I’ll try to make it up another way.

It is hardly a "difficult" way to save money but clearly it is for some.

I had an experience there once where the front car finished up and is pulling away, and the rear car is also starting to finish up, so I paused (as the next in line) for the rear car to finish up and pull away, rather than drive around them and have them drive around me- they're literally getting in the car- and the #4 guy behind me decides he doesn't want to wait, drives around both of us as the door's closing, and winds up blocking the rear car in because his tail is hanging out too wide.

The attendant wasn't having it, called him out for line jumping, and told him to go to the back of the line... and he drove away in a huff.

how you get 4%?
last i read the fine print the cash back from business membership only counted on the checkout registers, no tires and no gas.

ooooh you have costcos credit card don't you? extra points back for gas... everywhere?
 
Yes, everywhere.

Sure you can calculate it yourself though- if you get gas out of Chevron it's probably more expensive even if you get 4% back

Our Costco has its share of knuckle draggers at the gas pumps. Enough so that the thirty two cents saved on sixteen gallons of gas isn't worth it to me.

Besides, the clerk at the 7-11 is cute and she smiles when I ask for the receipt.

Unless the Costco is on your route would a person save anything after going out of their way to get gas there.
For me it would be over ten minutes out of way to the nearest Costco then back to where I was going. that would cost more in gas consumed than I’d ever save with their pennies off plus dividends.
 
I had a guy cut in front of me once. At first he ignored me but he couldn’t ignore me yelling, “Hey you with the gold Lexus, you’re a selfish dipshit and should be ashamed of yourself.”

He proceeded to call me poor. Ok champ. :laughing
