Crash on 80 today 3/13 hilltop

I'm right in the Concord/Pittsburg area, so if you need anything brought to you, or picked up or whatever, let me know.
HE WRITES, HE LIVES!!! I'm not in the Concord area but after you made my last bonfire effing awesome, I am happy to bring you anything you like. :)

Thank you for offering, both of you! I'm currently staying with my mom about an hour north of the Golden Gate. Somewhere out by Santa Rosa kama on the bright side it's halfway to Skaggs! Really right now the only things I need our are protein in my diet and cash to support eating and getting my cellular phone back online.

How are things with funds? Would it help to bring this back up again and see if we can raise more money, maybe for a new bike and gear? Maybe there are people out there with gear they could donate too? What's your size?

The fundraiser would be of great help!!!
As for gear I'm a very big guy I'm 6'2 and 230 pounds 240 pounds something like that. All of my stuff is one or two XL and right now I could use a full set of everything.
As for replacement vehicles, I've been riding for a very long time and have come to enjoy sport touring like a ZZR or VFR I also like dual sports

:facepalm

Vince is white.

:twofinger :laughing

And he he is a hot pocket!

....NEO THE HUT!!

Hey dude, I live in Pinole if you need anything. Like beer, I brew

When I move back home to pinole I will definitely update this thread and try your beers every one I will even try them by the case! Haha

Her insurance isn't covering your medical bills & such??

Everything is on hold pending police report

Seems to me that a brew-fund-raiser is appropriate. :thumbup

No drinking & riding, of course. :teeth

Somewhere in there you need to work in finding me another girl! Preferrably a cutie who likes to ride

Finding prospects for your love-life has not been and is NOT in my job description. :rofl

There's wimmenz on teh BARF, and wimmenz that could be on teh BARF. It's your job to find the right one. :teeth

Peter I've been working on that for quite a while now!! But without any outside help it's pretty difficult when I don't even live in the Bay Area, I'll be moving back soon. This accident really throw a wrench in my life!

Naughty Forever is starting up a new business...we could roll by with a blow up sheep?

Yeah I'm still wearing some medical stuff like a neck brace and lots of equipment for my arm I think you should cut the trip short stop by your place!

Holy shit. Glad your still with us Vince.

Sounds like a journey back to health has begun.
Wish you all the best in that. I know I have a jacket that will fit ya. Good to have a goal to get back to riding :thumbup

Best wish man.

California Highway Patrol has finally release the report, still waiting to get my hands on a copy of it.

I got the box of all my old gear and everything else I was wearing when I went down, all of the gear is pretty gnarly! My laptop iPad and cell phone are beyond repair.

Is the laptop HD recoverable, so you can image it to another drive? Cellphone backed up so your contacts, etc. are saved?

I have already called the files I need off of the laptop drive. Depending on how this insurance thing works out I may or may not try to buy the parts and fix it, however before the accident I ordered a few things for for instance I have a brand new battery and a new digitizer since it is a convertible tablet laptop. As for my cellular phone, I had my backup software backup full backups monthly but it alternated between internal storage and the SD card. My newest backup on the SD card is not very current... But the majority of my contacts we're also saved to my Google account! And I plan on buying the next generation of my phone so I can report everything very easily!

The following text is copied from a car forum that it I am on.

If I get back on a bike I'm going to continue to lane share. You guys can talk my ear off but the fact is, lane sharing can be done safely. It also cuts my commute from: 4 hours a day down to just over one hour. After reading the rather long report and knowing what I know about motorcycles and in doing a little research on how cars and bikes crash I've come to the conclusion that the other driver had changed lanes either very quickly or without signal. There is a fair amount of documentation on how my bike went down and the scars a left on the asphalt. The evidence suggest is that I was Lane sharing between 5 and 15 miles per hour faster than traffic that puts me right where California Highway Patrol recommends you lane split. These scars in the road indicate I made a very drastic turn to the left. That indicates to me that the other driver when from Lane 2 into lane 1. And I had tried to swerve to avoid her vehicle. It's also a known fact that motorcycle swerve word faster than they can brake.
All of that also cooperates with what the witness and other driver has stated to the police.
It also lines up with what I would have done in a situation like that.
I'll continue to talk to my attorney in the meantime.

This isn't the place to be discussing motorcycle dynamics, but I can't let that sentence go.

It's meaningless to say that "motorcycles swerve faster than they can brake." In some situations, swerving is the best way to avoid a crash. In others, braking is best. It depends totally on available space and the speeds and trajectories of the vehicles, and it can be a very hard decision to make.

The best thing a rider can do to prepare himself is to practice both braking and swerving, and thoroughly understand the machine's capabilities. Then, with the help of whatever natural or supernatural forces he believes in, he'll make the right decision when the time comes.

It sounds like you have a difficult recovery ahead of you, Vince. I wish you the very best.

Dan, I can assure you that practice both many times in parking lots and out there on the roads. I would like to think that with my lengthy experience I can make the right decision. But hey riding since my 15th birthday on the street first bike when I was still 8 years old what do I know? I have written that bike to and from work for several months prior to the accident and I can assure you swerving around of sickle with a much better choice if what I'm reading a police report is all accurate. Then again the brakes on the bandit we're operating normally but embarrassing compared to my ZZR but I've only written both of them stock with less than 5000 miles, I have no clue what the base line should be right?

I wasn't criticizing your abilities or your actions in the crash, only the general statement I quoted. It isn't even wrong; it's nonsense.

Dan, you don't accept PMs so I'll say it here.
Please let this one go, Vince has been in a major injury wreck, that includes brain trauma, this argument can wait 12 months until he is in a stronger state for debate.
(Sorry, Vince)
Following this type of injury the thought is often clear; however the spoken and written words tend not to convey the thought precisely.
Let the man heal.

Yeah number is correct, as much as I hate to admit it IT guy can still not type . I depend on speech to text dictation. And the hospital get discharge me after yet another lecture on tramatic brain injury, apparently that can take up to 18 months to heal fully. I would like to think I am at 100 percent but I know I am NOT.
