You're going to be in for a nightmare of customer service runarounds, etc, etc. NOT worth the $30 you think you're saving over B&H, Adorama, or Amazon.

Never buy camera equipment online from a store that isn't listed with Reseller Ratings.

Look at their URL. Leylandelec.com

And then look at their site name. Layland Electronic Store

They can't even be bothered to spell their own website correctly.

:laughing Sorry, I had to get the first thing posted before you made a $170 mistake. :laughing

I don't know about other types of consumer electronics, but the camera industry is particularly thick with these types of scam houses.

Edit: Looking up some of their other prices. A D700 for $1803.82. Yeah right.

Scam outfit for sure. :thumbdown

I was coming back on to post that I had decided to keep shopping as I felt rather scamish about their site... no credit cards, bank transfers only... "flat rate" shipping rate of 0.....

Just seems kinda sketch...

But thanks for the heads up, shopping on those 3 right now to see who's got the best deal... will post up for advice again before submitting....

Sheesh... noob at bikes, noob at cameras.... i_am_the_noob!

Seriously, go with B&H. I've spent probably $10-15k with them over the last five years, and I've never had any problems whatsoever.

Yeah, I am going to order it from them... just looking at other accessories now... bags, filters, that kind of thing.

No filters.

Need at least a clear.... I've broken too many len's on my old camera to not have some level of protection there. Though that's something i usually find on ebay for a buck.

DX lenses are NOT recommended for use with FX "full-frame" digital, 35mm or APS SLR cameras.

Do I need to worry about this with my Nikon D60???

le sigh...Tell me exactly how a thin, cheap piece of glass is going to protect your thick, hardened, coated piece of glass? All it's going to do is cost you $10 and slightly reduce your image quality. The front element of a lens is designed to hold up to everyday use. They're remarkably durable. Anything that could actually damage it will go right through a filter and damage it anyway.

Sorry, this one is a pet peeve of mine.

You wanna protect your lens and get better pictures at the same time? Put on the lens hood, and NEVER REMOVE IT.

You're fine. The D60 is not a full-frame camera.

Actually, all it does is cost me a buck.... ebay my friend.

IDK... I had a mediocre 35mm camera back in the day and went through 2 lenses before putting on a filter/protector. Instead of impacting my lens any force impacts that filter... Those were the days I was doing a lot of hiking with my camera though... now not so much.

Would hate to pull out my new 200 dollar lens, and find it cracked.

Ordered.

Nikon NI3518DXAF
AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G DX Lens USA

Lens hood. Unless you're planning on running around in a rebar factory with the camera held up to your eye.

I'm not even going to comment on a $1 filter. Some people are more picky about their image quality than others, clearly. :p

Here, I found a cross section of your lens. Look at where the actual glass is. You aren't protecting shit with a filter.

Okay, I'm done ranting. Enjoy your new lens. :thumbup
