DMV still sucks and workers are rude as hell....

The vallejo DMV has a cool new electronic sign that tells you how much shorter the wait time is at every other DMV office.:wtf

The thing is, that sign lies. They have the same data on their web site, so I went to the Napa DMV instead. The Vallejo DMV said wait times for folks without appointments at Napa averaged 7 minutes. It was actually 55.

I mentioned to the clerk that the Vallejo DMV info said the wait time listed for the Napa office was seven minutes. She laughed out loud.

State workers have been reduced to minimum wage recently. They are trying to sort it out but I know a few people that work for the state that got their pay cut to about 1/4th of what it used to be. This might help explain their lack of enthusiasm. Not that DMV workers were the most pleasant to begin with but I'm sure this makes it worse.

Not true, the judge didn't allow that to go through. They still make their normal wages which makes the fact that most seem to have a chip on their shoulder that much worse.

:rofl The Napa dmv used to be nice like that but now everyone from Vallejo and Fairfield come here and fuck up our dmv.

Thank you AAA !!

I heard the Salinas DMV has like 5 customers a day. Maybe that's why they're always in a good mood. But holy crap! Salinas? where the hell is Salinas? just kiddin'
Not true. There's a line at least 10 people long just waiting for them to open.:wtf
It's like that all day there.

YOU CALLING ME A LIAR?! :|

:teeth OK I heard that at a 4th of july BBQ and a few people who worked for the state were saying their pay just went down to minimum. I guess it never went through, it's been a while since i talked to them....

OP, you go to the wrong DMV. But then again you surf 41st, proving you like nasty crowds that have no fucking idea what they're doing.

YES! I surfed yesterday and had a blast but some dumbass got in my way (btw, da moron was in the impact zone). uhhh, sorry...i didn't know. Get your ass to 38th or Sharks stupid. better yet, go to Cowells.
If you're talkin' about the locals, i got no beef with them and they got no beef with me.

Going in with the right attitude is 20% of it.

I've had great experiences, even when registering one of my weird Indian 3 wheel bizarro clown cars when the out of state title said 'Moped,' and I wanted it registered as motorcycle..... even if I do have to put seat belts in it :|

They are really nice in Merced but slow, and the furloughs just mean more people when they're open

AAA

They even towed my car when it broke. Sheesh, the 40$ a year is worth it just to avoid DMV.

i went to the hayward DMV for my M1 test. i got an appt. i was in and out in hour. if u do things the right way, you're fine. you'd be irritable too if you worked at the dmv and had to deal with all those idiots who dont know how to drive and deal with the real world.

I always make an appointment online. If you have time to bitch on BARF, you can make an appointment.

I've never had a rude DMV person in the 24 years I've lived in CA. I registered my last bike in Woodland and they were very busy yet still upbeat and really helpful.

I had a DMV bomb go off in my life recently. I was pretty pissed because it was idiotic. But I didn't rant on the person when I finally got connected. I just explained it to her and she said she would take care of it immediately. Be respectful and they seem to respond. AAA is worth the money.

I caught someone having a real bad day then.

before cuts

I remember on most occasions even before cuts, dmv workers, ASSHOLES. Don't/didn't they get paid decently? And, like any other employee who doesn't like their job/situation, "if you don't like it, get off the shitter and look for a better job". Just my 2 cents.

See why they have no traffic? Nobody can find it :rofl

My experience at the DMV is usually pretty painless. There's always a wait, but at least the one I go to it's rarely more than 30 minutes.

I dunno, they have been going up in my book. More and more things can be done online, I'm really hoping title transfer will be doable online soon.

Plus just recently they gouged me of $200 less than I was expecting. Kind of twisted, but I had already given up on those dollars, so somehow the DMV was giving me money :teeth Even though it really was my money in the first place.

I've never had a bad experience at the DMV. I just approach the people there with the same attitude that I'd expect in return - a smile on my face, positive tone, etc. So far everyone has been really nice to me. In fact, once a woman cut me a break when I was registering my old truck and gave me a couple more years before I had to smog it even though it was due.

I'm a pretty likable guy though ;)
