Do You Mountain Bike?

^ Fair enough. 99% of the little riding I do is on a hard tail. I'm no judge of FS set ups. I will say there is a mountain of work S.C. does on analyzing suspension rates and shock curves etc. I'm sure other companies do as well.

I've never ridden VPP, so I can't speak.

A friend of mine ran head first into a rock pretty damn hard and his wheel exploded spectacularly. Don't know if anything could have held up, aluminum would have just folded.

I only run carbon on my race bike, rest are aluminum.

If you don't mind me asking, how long have your buddies been working at SC and/or in the bike industry? Do they like what they do?

Very impressive video. Scientific? No, of course not. But certainly proves a point while simultaneously being a very effective marketing tool. Carbon rims may be an upgrade some day... still getting used to the fact that my pedal bike is worth more than any of my motorcycles :wtf No regrets about picking up this bike, though. First full-suspension rig and it rips!

I'm getting this same bike, full carbon version I the next couple days

Jekyl?

Bikes are amazing. My Enduro is my primary ride now, the XC bike is back to race only. But of course, I'm racing Saturday!

Where is that? Looks beautiful and fun! I'll try and record my run down Exploration trail Saturday, you'll like that one :D

How did you do?
Not too bad. Surprisingly small turn out. I finished third, though arguably only half the people were there to race, the other half to just ride. I lost about 30 minutes trying to navigate. I had only ridden about 2.5 miles out of the enter course, so everything else was new to me and I made wrong turns a lot or couldn't find trails. That doesn't take into account stopping to refill my water and such. Now that I know the course and what to expect I am going to push for the course record next year (5:32).

It was beautiful, super fun, and a good challenge. The race starts with a 3.5 mile, 2300' climb (average 12%) of all singletrack! In exchange, we get a 6 mile, 2000' singletrack descent half way through the race :D

Sounds like a fun challenge.. hopefully I'm in a place to do it next year..

Managed to strain my MCL riding ramps last week. Guess it's time to sit on my ass and order bike parts. :laughing
