the SIS shifter housing suggestion is intriguing, as well
NOOOO,,, don't use SIS housing for brake, the concept is the same but the construction is totally different and it WILL fail leaving you with no brakes. Compressionless brake housing begins construction like SIS (Shimano brand) shift housing, but then is reinforced to hold it together under hard compressive forces where shift housing will literally blow apart and collapse. You want actual brake housing that's construction is compressionless. SRAM, Jagwire and Yokozuna all make good replaceable kits. If you want to spend a little more then you can do a segmented kit with replaceable liner (like Nokon) for a real tricked out custom setup that works amazingly well.
Someone mentioned carbon brakes and modulation, play around with pad choice more. My rim brake carbon wheels are better than my HED C2s for power and modulation. Compressionless housing is good for rim brakes too FYI. Pad choice for me is SwissStop Black Prince.
