Much much better than the 1098 IMO. Which I never fully got on board with
+1
I rode the 1098 back to back with the S1000RR and chose the S1000RR hands down by a long shot. But this panigale looks amazing!

I think this will be the most unfuckwithable bike of '12.

Agreed. There was simply way too much at stake for Ducati to make this bike anything short of revolutionary. The performance is sure to be outrageous but even more than that, every part of the bike has been reconsidered and modernized. The attention to detail is off the charts... look at that wheelie shot above - no one except MAYBE MV and Bimota pays that much attention to the underside of a bike.

I'm not following... What was at stake? the 1x98 series was a great success.. They could have just advanced that design, but they are nuts.. And I approve of this.

Seriously though, the balls to make a bike like this only comes from a small privately held company.. You just don't see this kind of risk taking when all the stockholders care about is the balance sheet..

It sure does look pretty in the flesh
I took these pics with a crappy compact and it still looks awesome.

Yeah that wheelie shot really shows how well put together this bike is aesthetically.

I am glad they didn't soldier on with the undertail exhaust. While this seems like a total rip-off of the KTM or Buells, they sure did make it look awesome!

And, everyone borrows from everyone else when it comes to motorcycles!!

This one sure looks finer then the 1098, imo.

Guh...this bike makes me wonder what would have happened if Honda kept evolving the rc51.

that exhaust pipe will make a rad mounting point for an undertail license plate.

actually it will look ass just like the ones i've seen who bury their plate under there....1/2 of them get smashed when the suspension is compressed. :laughing

wasn't gonna happen. all Honda does any more, is the same the other Japanese companies are doing.

Except for the time being they're still resisting jumping on the electronics alphabet soup bandwagon.
