To comment, on ppl's comments about it looking like a cbr 1000. Ducati came out with the nose design way back when the 1098 was released, that was before 2008, when the current cbr look was issued. for the new model they only augmented the nose to allow for the CF chasis/airbox to allow air flow in to the throttle bodies mmkay.. :nerd :blah :twofinger

While I don't usually care for bikes of this nature. So excited about this bike. Wouldn't ever own one but I honestly think it is the PERFECT sport bike. So cool.

The 999 just dropped another $1K........

That bike is damn sexy BTW and looks the business.

The 1199 comes in three flavors: vanilla, S and corse.

  • The basic version ($16,999?) uses fully-adjustable Marzocchi front/Sachs rear suspension and is fitted with traction control, quickshift, “engine brake control” and ride-by-wire as standard. ABS is optional.
  • The Ducati 1199 Panigale S ($21,999?) adds electronically adjusted 43mm Ohlins NIX30 forks and and TTX36 shock, the ABS remains optional (+$1K)
  • The Ducati 1199 Panigale S Corse ($27,999?) comes with a titanium racing exhaust, tricolore paint and a data analysis package that will spit out lap times, lean angles, deep-dive engine parameters and TC actuation info to either a Mac or PC

Pics with date?

$24-37k for the bike?? It does look like sex on 2 wheels, but that's very expensive sex :laughing

It doesn't work to just take UK bike prices and convert them directly to USD, bikes in genereal are more expensive over there plus the list prices include value added tax and general sales tax

for example UK price for an R1 is £13,899 or $22,230

From a marketing perspective, in the US Ducati will want to keep the entry level 1199 a few hundred dollars under the $15K psychological threshold
