Ducati 1199 Panigale: the wait is almost over

I like it.

I wonder how race bodywork is going to look with the exhaust getting into the bellypan and all?

I call dibs on Stan's used panigale in a 2-3 years

The sbk line isnt about tradition. If you want antiquated but character filled bikes, a top of the line sbk isn't for you anyway

Case in point, I love the air cooler two valved trellis, that's why I had a 900ss. The sbk line is about winning championships

Does Ducati run a wet clutch on their race bikes? Just curious as to why they would do this other than for the street going versions.

Ducati runs dry clutches on their race bikes, but wet clutches have better longevity which is why they went that route on this one. You could sorta see this coming after they went wet on the 848.

Because Ducati has been hijacked by Japanese bike lovers..! :x

Rest a sure though, the race bikes will have a dry clutch..! :thumbup

well all the other bikes in wsbk run wet clutches.

I assume since they arent runnng the panagale in wsbk next year, and waiting until 2013, we will see an R version, possibily with a different motor spec

It looks like a CBR1k front, gixxer tail, and Kawa 650 suspension, but it's still friggin hawt. I'd love to rock it around Infineon for a few laps.

re: http://www.ducatinewstoday.com/2011...v-augusta-f3-for-most-beautiful-bike-of-show/

Ducati’s newly-unveiled 1199 Panigale Superbike has been awarded the title “Most Beautiful Bike of Show” at the EICMA 69th International Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy. I actually got a flutter in my chest watching the vids... Holy hell that's beautiful.

the video is pretty sweet. seeing someone next to it really gives a scale to how it looks an sizes

Dang, this would be the ugly angle of the 1199 to me along with the side view due to the mid-pipe sticking out like a sore thumb and I've pointed this out months ago (looks like Duc is keeping it the way it is) :wtf. Will make final call after seeing it in person though.

Lol, to each their own I suppose because I love the mid pipe poking through. :laughing

ps// 'wet' mode still makes more hp than my 996S. :laughing x2

as much as I want to own and ride this bike everywhere.. ( next stop hawthorne muhaha) this thing is totally made for racing and has no place on the street, just like the rsv4 factory or the bwm s1000rr..

Wow you can tell Ducati believes the short stroke Turkey neck Panigale
will win... look at the throttle bodies... it comes stock with FIM
intake restrictors...
