Hi jack looks cool to me. Matches the bike too.

I need to come try it. :teeth

I have a similar fighter pilot 3/4 helmet I bought in Taiwan when I rented a scooter (the rental helmets were waaaay too small for my giant American head). Like this except black fabric and a tinted visor. Brand is Zeus, I think I paid about $60 for it. I know it's totally safe because it has a DOT sticker on it :laughing.

Seriously, it's basically a scooter helmet. A lot of the fighter pilot helmets are the same. Dunno about the ones you linked, they may be legit.

Those fighter helmets rock! :thumbup

Just hold off on the trials spandex outfits. :laughing :twofinger

I'm a firm believer in matching your helmet to riding style. :teeth

You're good to go right up till your face hits the pavement, then the problems begin. But a good total mouth reconstruction won't run you more than $40k or so..

Almost forgot, your insurance won't cover more than a few thousand of that.

You guys did see that he plans to use the helmet for trials, right? I'm the first person to put someone on blast for wearing a helmet without a chin bar, but for trials, such a helmet is actually the way to go.

Like your jaw? Attached to your head? With teeth? Just sayin'

I'm riding this, at about 5 mph, in a virgin field with soft dirt. Yesterday I put my foot down for the first time.

We've all heard that. Next it will be wheelies at 110mph on I 880 in commute traffic.:afm199

That bike would kind of suck on the street. That said, I would LOVE to have a trials bike. An electric trials bike would be ideal, as I could practice just about anywhere. :drool

swapping the final drive ratio and putting a fluffy king and queen seat on it would make an excellent commuter

i want that with a street license. it would be awesome.

It will be available. Tony already has one. It weighs about 165 pounds in this configuration...

what's to keep someone from riding one of these on, say, the bicycle trail that goes out to the baylands? it's not that different than an electrified bicycle, no combustion engine to piss off joggers...

Scooter helmet it is :thumbup. I like the venting in mine, not as good as a bicycle helmet but much better than most motorcycle helmets.
