First Costco in China opens, opening day what could go wrong?

Costco booze prices are a worthy aspect to membership.

You don't need a Costco membership to purchase alcohol. :cool

State doesn't allow anywhere to require a membership/club/whatever to purchase alcohol, so you can walk right in, and so long as you're only buying booze, do so without membership.

If you need infrequent access to Costco, you can ask a member to purchase Costco gift cards on your behalf. My in-laws drop in once a month to shop, so we get them a couple hundred dollars worth of cards to gain entry and pay with.

I’m at a point in life when I should be cutting down on mass quantities of alcohol.... :laughing

Yeah, well, I like the mass size bottles for the cheaper price. They do last a long time. Good gin, that Tito's vodka, the Bulleitt's whiskys, the spiced rum, etc etc. it kills you to pay even BevMo prices after paying Costco price.

Didn't know about the walk-in and buy booze but I buy other stuff too. We ran out of ranch beef and had to actually buy some burger so we got the pre-made patties for campin. Very high quality, I thought.

I don't even keep alcohol in the house except for a couple of nice bottles of scotch I have for special occasions. I really only drink at Bars and restaurants with people.

Merge that with the diet one. Good plan! Ever since my kid became a bartender, I started stocking the cabinet with all kinds of stuff for when he comes home.
My gen wasn't big on cocktails at all.

The minimizing the storage of alcohol at home really is a good one, for your health.. OTOH drinking at bars/restaurants is just horrendous for your wallet, so it's sort of a can't-win proposition.

:dunno

It isn't a health choice for me, I just only drink socially and rarely ever have guests in my home. If I don't go out with people for 2 weeks, I don't have alcohol for 2 weeks.

For me it just comes down to me associating alcohol with socialization, and not having much of a comfort in alcohol for the sake of alcohol.

The couple of times a year I drink alcohol is when at a place where its mandatory to buy a drink to get a table. I was at a place back in August where they had live music and to get a seat you had to order food and a drink, the usual bar food crap. I drank half a beer and then a coke.
Bars are an awkward place for a non-drinker who doesn't like drinking soda either.

you do not have to be a member to buy booze, or use the pharmacy. state law

You're 5 days late to the party :laughing

omglike noone ever has done that (except maybe one person)

that said literally the last time I bumped into a barfer at costco recently, he said he was going to the pharmacy(eyeglasses) in--out.
In the melee, ahem I mean at the entrance, I didn't realize to ask him he's actually the not being a member type at that point

Seltzer water with a lime in it. Looks like you are drinking something but no booze and no calories. :cool
