FJ-09 vs Multistrada???

Coming off a '99 VFR, Cary purchased an FJ-09 in late 2014
and headed off on a solo trip to La Paz with 18 miles on the odo ... :ride

No issues with the bone-stock FJ-09 for her ...
Just another data point, the Ducati is a beautiful bike ... :party

New FJ-09 ride report here:
FJ-09: 3600 Mile Break-in Ride

Fun thread, good luck

The engine is already great and the chassis is too, add in an ECU flash for another 4hp, go all out and spend $2,500 on high end AK-20 cartridges and Penske triple clicker shock and you'll have a ridiculously performing bike with low maintenance that costs as much as a new V-Strom 1000. If you want more throw in a nice exhaust for an extra 5hp for 115hp 65lb/ft (to the ground), some Brembo radial monoblock calipers for $700 and an R6 radial MC and you're pimpin.

Spotted another Stoltec Moto fan :teeth

Nice!

Reminds me that the charcoal color is something the FJ has going for it. Not that you can't get it on the MTS if you're so inclined...

000[/b] Is it the most amazing bike evar? No but it can hang with the big boys like the S1000XR, 1190/1290 and Multistrada and costs half as much and has a much smaller engine.

I spent time up on 1 this weekend keeping up with a guy on a S1000XR on my comparatively anemic 800GS. In fact, it wasn't as much keeping up with him, as having to slow down mid turn so I didn't run into him.

But, yeah, in the straights he'd be gone. For the most part, when it comes to the twisties, it's indian, not arrow.

DVT is what I'll be after, yes. The PP DVT was launched recently, but $20k is already on the high side, so I'll pass on it...

Got your thread confused with another. Someone was looking for a used Multi, which would likely prove difficult if you were hunting for a DVT bike.

Yep - and price estimates put it around $23,500.. No Skyhook either, only Ohlins manual adjust suspension - not sure if this is the semi-active with their SCU or 100% manual or not.
