Such a cool event in a beautiful setting. Have to work this weekend. Grrrr.

We'll be there! :party

Calistoga Expert Main. Maybe the worst coverage from FansChoice.TV all year. IMO, poor camera placement made it hard to follow and looked amateurish from the infield shots. However, the speed shots from the fence make up for most of the bad stuff.

Tight, fast 1/2 mile track that is a little sketchy judging by the number of injuries.

yeah, it's a tacky paper-clip track with a tight T1 -
great racing [despite the red flags & unfortunate injuries]

I'd seen zero info online about Molly Terry's condition
until just now - she's been released from ICU & hospital
and returning to IL with family to recover

[locally sponsored] Jethro Halbert suffered a severe head injury -
after 2 CAT scans, he is stable and making progress,
resting and healing in the ICU

Molly Terry's family posted that she was being discharged from the hospital this afternoon and they were heading home.

It was a pretty damn rough night for Zanotti Racing, too.

yes, Kenny Coolbeth broke his throttle hand [& has other injuries as well]

tho' Stevie Bonsey broke his collarbone, he's claiming that he'll be at Pomona!

Could one contributor to the crashes be that there are so many possible lines? Glad to hear that the injured are making progress. :thumbup

Other than the crashes, the racing was first rate and exciting, in a beautiful venue, shared with good friends. Looking forward to next year.

IMHO the water truck was employed just before the main events which in the cool evening put too much water on the track. Prior to the Pro Singles Main event they let them out for a 1 lap check out and the first rider through turn one almost lost it. It was obvious what was going to happen after the start and into the first turn. On the second lap turn one saw 5 riders go down. The track was in super condition with a low line and a high line through the corners, I believe they just put way too much water after the semi's.

I dunno, you may well be correct -
since dirt prep is one of those mixes of art & science,
a Master was put in charge, along with AMA Pro's Steve Morehead

what I'd noticed was that the truck hadn't been out the entire night, before the 2 finals

mebbe it was a pre-emptory move that missed the mark.....

Thunder Multimedia captures the beauty and flat-out fun of short track with another one of their fantastic videos. Brad Baker and Mikey Rush at Teddy Tamagni's place in Napa Valley.

Great stuff! Particularly liked the "goon riding". Looks better than I will at ROMS next month. :laughing

Tuono Joice has authorized me to steer her sinuous A7 to Pomona flat track, solo!

however, I really want company for the EZ trip down & back
