Fumoto drain plugs

Well, it is a bit messy.

True. The drain plug is quick and easy. Then you douche oil all over everything when you remove the oil filter anyway lol.

Kinda like saying don’t crash

If someone can't tighten a drain plug maybe they shouldn't be working on their own bike.

That’s akin to the same argument people make with helmets.

They have a $15k motorcycle and a $99 Sedici helmet.

Why do I need a $500 - $1500 helmet when my $99 one does the same thing?

I don't see anything wrong with this statement. There is little correlation between price of helmet and performance. If the $99 one fits better then go for it!

And I don't see what's wrong with trying something a bit more efficient. :dunno

Exactly.
I was the pessimist at the beginning of this thread and I confess I am more than intrigued. In fact my truck will most likely get one at the next service.
Dodge was kind enough to hang that cross-over pipe about 2 inches from the drain plug. :laughing

Adding my own experience with these valves, I run one on my car. They take forever to drain, I feel like they're dripping for about 2ish hours to get rid of 4 quarts. I warm it up (just warm, not hot) and have the filler cap off too. Which I'm okay with, it has become have a beer time. Besides not having to replace crush washers constantly (which are cheap anyways) I'm not sure I'd recommend them too heavily. The flow is also really small (teeny tiny hole), so every 2nd or 3rd oil change I remove the fumoto plug completely anyways to let it drain out. Yeah...

Dunno if I'd run them on my bike. They stick out a bit more than a normal drain plug (not much, like .5-1 inch or so?). Each to their own, I think some people just really don't like getting tools out. Or have giant arms and are constantly stripping threads.

Piston planes use similar drain plugs, for those skeptical of reliability.
I concur with auburn on the post above; flow is lesser. (although that could be due to much ‘thicker’ oils involved.)
