Humor is JUXSTAPOSITION.
Taking an ordinary object, person or action and giving it an unexpected twist.

People expect to see a truck parked. No one expects to see one dangling over a canal.

Taking an emotion or a phrase thats spoken and enriching ( exaggerating ) it can also be humorous.

Example: Samuel Jackson's dialog in Pulp Fiction
Example: Any Mel Brooks Comedy.

Humor needn't be crass, obscene or revolve around misfortune.
Bill Cosby has done it for years..as have many others.

In the end..it all comes down to an individuals perceptions and their likes/dislikes. I tend to enjoy smart, subtle and DRY forms of humor. But that's me, my brain and my .02 cents.

For anyone else that went to the Doghouse Comedy Jam over the weekend, you'll know what I'm talking about... Was Carlos Mencia's opening to his act offensive? To some, yes, they left, showing their displeasure and may never go to one of his shows or buy his CD's ever again. Did the majority of people stay and laugh their asses off, even if it was in a nervous sort of way? Yes. Did I find it offensive? A bit, but still laughed...
Then there was the whole skit about the guy in the wheelchair at the amusement park... :laughing:laughing:laughing:cry:laughing

Not every vein of humor is 'appropriate' to everyone. Choose to take it in, or choose to overlook it. Strip the deaths from the equation - The US DID get owned on that one. We (as a Country) think we're above any misfortune on that scale... other Countries in the world are going through that shite daily - AT OUR HANDS! So, for a pic like Com3's, link it, just like someone would do to a nude/porn pic.
Come to think of it... I'm not offended by the nude/porn pics, however some people on the board are. So, I'm okay if I have to click a link to see it. And, if there's enough info as to why it's linked (not someone's opinion, the facts), then I can decide if I want to look at it.... :|

Ya'll were too hard on Rob........He ain't so bad.......also funny things and humor go a long way......people who risk their lives and die in duty are an everyday thing.....we are lucky to live where we do......whether or not being owned is appropriate for one thing or another is not worth what has happened here.......
