Get Fit, Stay Fit, Feel Good - 2026

So yesterday was ugh. I was feeling pretty tired after the weekends heated outside activities but decided to head to the gym and soldier through it. Got to the gym and was just not feeling it but started the warm up routines and got to work. As expected my performance wasn't up to snuff but I gutted it through and at least got in a decent workout.

I missed yesterday because of this bullshit called work.

So leg day pushed to today. I am headed out Thursday to go ride for 4 days so will get one more in tomorrow. I need to be a bit more vigilant on my diet while traveling this time. Last rally I had a carb free for all so to speak and the bounce was 4 lbs in 4 days. :facepalm

I have 3 work trips coming up and am dreading them as far as diet is concerned. They like to drink at my company get togethers. Thinking I may have to switch to morning workouts as we usually all get together after work and go eat.

I am happy because my work trips are usually to SF and involve me getting way more steps and bicycle time in than usual. Although I drink a lot and eat like a trash panda.

I will allow myself an ice cream because I owe @two wheel tramp, but besides that I will stick with my diet for the rally :ride

edit to add: I am VERY MUCH looking forward to the ice cream :drool

I am going to CT for the first one at end of August then I have two trips overseas to Sweden. I should be getting two new stamps in my passport as it will be my first time through Germany and Denmark. I have some touristy stuff planned for when I am in Copenhagen as I have not been there before then I will take a train to our home office in Sweden. For my second trip I wanted to do Oslo but it would be an 8 hour train ride to our office and that is too long to be stuck on a train especially after a long flight a day or 2 before.

Leg day. They are tough.
For some reason I find a little glory with the upper body stuff and legs are just tough.

Rode the bike for 20 plus and bust the 4 mile mark with 22 second left.

All the good stuff done and I just realized I skipped the dead lifts. :facepalm

Very solid PT exercises and weights were done well with a passion to get better. I do imagine the balance and cross steps stuff is not in everyone’s program but good stuff for me!

It's the bullshit hotel gyms that drive me nuts. Why can't one of the chains figure out there's a loyal contingent for a hotel with a quality gym in all of their properties?

Exactly. Most are just some kettlebells and two treadmills but I have been to some where they have decent dumbbell selection and at least an adjustable bench one ot two even had a pulley machine which really shocked me.

Just read an article about this guy from the Netherlands that hooked up a speed and distance tracker to his hamster’s wheel, then linked it to Strava. The article says the hamster runs every night and starts at about the same time each night. On two of the nights it ran 6.06 miles in 4 hours and 37 minutes and the next night 5.55 miles in 3 hours and 56 minutes. The hamster averages 70km a week. 🤣

I saw that on my feed. Go Moly Go!
My daughter had a hammie, we built the enclosure and her winter white would absolutely fly on her wheel. They are pretty neat little creatures. Pic is circa 2019.

What're it's Macros though?

Im also interested in tips. I’m 5’9” 147#. My DEXA scan a few years ago when I was 142# said I was 19%. I feel skinnier with bigger thighs, so maybe I’m lower now. Maybe not. I have no idea how American adults go lower.

Technically gaining lean muscle will reduce the % without losing any fat. Game the system lol.
