Where does one find these mythical $250 Ninja 250's?

I picked up my first 2fiddy for $260. Got it in Benicia, maybe Vallejo? Not sure as it's been a couple years. Hadn't been ridden in a year or two, battery was dead, carbs were gummed, tires were flat.
Took maybe fifty bucks and an afternoon to get it running and I beat the fuck out of it for years. Went to Hawthorne a couple times, Oregon, down to Bako and back more times than I can count...

It was in damn good condition, too.

That's a rare deal. I got a similar 250 for $500 off a barfer. Got it running and riding for nothing. Couple of hours of work and I turned it around a year or so later for $900.

Happy endings are nice. Same thing with my dirtbike. Only paid a grand and he couldn't get it to run and the petcock leaked badly. All it took was a $9 seal kit and resetting the idle screw adjustment and it ran fine. Add $40 for jets and a spark plug and it's perfect!

Dude was asking 5 or 6 on Craigslist, but I talked him down quite a bit. I probably could have gotten away with just recharging the battery for free but I figured I'd splurge on a new one. :laughing

Just a thought

All things considered, if you aren't madly in love, and not married, why not find a GF with substantial resources, you know like someone with enough money to buy YOU a bike.

One of my best decisions was to "marry well" and not be, you know, "that guy"...

Just a thought.

Happy Holidays!

I don't really plan on getting "married". Maybe if our laws get up to date with society. Otherwise no thanks, I'm not a gambling man.

Acting married without the benefit of marriage laws regarding property often turns out poorly for those involved (unless people keep their stuff separate).

Ah, you'll be single by the time this thread smokes out anyways.
:rofl

Did you actually use your mate's wealth and future income potential as a search criterion while dating or just happened to find a girl with some?

Ms. Bad Example did MSF, got her M1, solicited advice on her own, decided on a used Ninja 250, and bought it on her own.

I'm the gold digger- Mrs. bought all three of my rides, and I had full access to Ms.'s Ninjette and Daytona.

Woof; a $400 Ninja 250 is probably the absolute last thing I need. I have garage space though. Maybe I should get one.

(I have poor self control) :laughing

:rolleyes I'm doing just fine brah

If the goal is to stir-up shit and bring out the worst in people, agreed, you're doing a fine job. Food for thought, though, I have $20 that says you'll continue to ignore some of the advice here and continue to reply with more of the old snarky stuff.

This has to be one of the weirder threads in this section of the forum.

Lots of good bikes out there, given her training why not pick up a used SV or DL 650 easy to ride reliable and easy to resell if things don't work out.
