Great Phishing Stories Thread

Squidly stole the 'onlyfans' joke I was going to make.
I've thought of doing the "you have called a crime scene and precisely what is your relationship to the deceased?" response, but I always choose the boring option and not engage.

clever. ‘delete’ is the only response i’ve ever been able to muster. not willing to even acknowledge my existence.
Delete block report…
I got one this morning… “How have you been?”

I got... "Hey, can I drop your stuff off later today?"

Good day to you,

My name is Dr. Jerry Williams, a United State lawyer. I have previously sent you a message regarding a transaction worth Twenty Million US Dollars (US$20,000,000.00) left by my late client before his tragic death.

I am contacting you once again because after going through your profile, I strongly believe that you will be in a better position to execute this business transaction with me.

Please if you are interested, I wish to point out that after the transaction I want 10% of this money to be donated among charity organizations while the remaining 90% will be shared equally by the both of us.

This transaction is 100% risk free; please respond to me as soon as possible for more detailed information.

Kindest Regards

Dr. Jerry Williams.

I got one... a client had his email hacked. Came to my Dad's email not mine so...:wtf

1. Hi, I hope you and yours are well. Do you have a minute through the email? I need to ask you something...
I recently slipped while walking and fell, and I ended up breaking my right femur. I had surgery, but I'm currently recovering.

I did not notice that is came to my Dad's email and responded OMG. Sorry sorry to hear. Etc.

2. Thanks
Do you buy often online using Amazon?

Steve

Sent from my iPhone

I said no thinking he needed help with it and said my wife does.

3. I need to purchase a Sephora E-gift card for a friend's daughter who was diagnosed with cancer of the Liver last week and she's being fast tracked for treatment. It's her birthday and I promised to get it for her, but I can't do this now because all my effort purchasing it online proved abortive. Could you tell your wife to get it from Amazon and have it sent to her email address? I'll reimburse you back as soon as possible.

Steve

I was wary and at that point knew this was bogus bullshit and called the client.
I wanted to respond say "You spammer thief stick fuck piece of shit!", but just let it lie to see if he would keep trying. :laughing

He has not.

I have been receiving multiple calls per day lately that AT&T labels as "Spam Risk", or from some tiny town in Idaho that is too small to have a call center. I finally had one where I had a few minutes, so I answered it. I only say "hello" once, and if there is a computer on the other end waiting for me to say it a second time they hang up on me.

This one said that it was from Pleasanton, so when I was actually talking to the person I asked them where they were calling from. They started off with the organization and I said "no, what is your location?" It was somewhere in Florida. So I told them that since this call was bogus from the start, how could I ever trust them for anything else whatsoever, and please take me off of your list and never call me again.

Maybe that worked, because that one was Tuesday about noon and two days later I haven't received a single one of those kind of calls.

There must be a call center in Pleasanton. I get scam calls from there all the time... I never answer.

When I get junk email, texts, or voice mails I simply delete them. I never answer them as that means they have a good email address or phone number that they can then sell.
