I think someone posted a screen shot of that a while back in which the player jumped off the jump you spoke of and was hit by a passing airplane... :laughing

Man, you'd have to time that pretty close!!! I'm wondering if the developers weren't screwing around to 'stage' the shot...

it was allegedly something spontaneous that the player did not expect at all. the "vid" was linked here a while ago...

oh snap!! :laughing

Now I gotta find the thing.

Discovered something, well, ODD, about the Santa Maria Beach area (the part in front of the safe house you can buy.)

I landed a chopper there, like, three days ago, and then went and saved the game.

It's been spawning right where I left it ever since.

Hey, decon. How do I pass that first flying mission by Torreno where you can't get above the radar limit? I either got shot down or crashed hitting a telephone pole. Should I just ignore the radar warning when I'm almost near my distination? Thanks!

you can pop up above the radar for short periods of time. if you STAY above the radar limit, you get a couple of jets on your tail, but dropping back down below allows you to shake 'em.

What I did was turn RIGHT 90 degrees after taking off, and fly up and just over the ridge to the ocean.. the fly low all the way around to your destination following the coastline. retrace the same route coming back, only turn inland and fly up and over to line up with the runway.

I love the dialogue during that mission.

"Damn, Torino, I can see the ground through the floorboards on this thing!"

"Yah, isn't it great? The Air Force guys will think you're an enthusiast, they're less likely to shoot you down on sight."

"Then why all the fly low shit?"

"I said 'Less Likely'. Those guys are so hopped up on amphetamines they'll shoot anything that moves and ask questions later during debrief. But you'll be fine!"

Oh this is intense.

You know how on occasion you see a REALLY BIG jet fly overhead? As in passenger jet? There's a bit of speculation as to if you can jack one of these.

You can.

In the Las venturas airport, on the southern end, right next to the end of the runway, there's a REALLY BIG hangar. The door opens by sinking into the ground, so it's easy to miss it if you drive by it.

Inside is one of these jets, and a ramp to get to the door. Then you have to CAREFULLY back it out of the hangar and get it lined up on the runway (the wings are so wide they overlap the sides, and will hit things if you're not centered.)

Then fly like you would normally... well, OK, it's big and takes forever to turn, so you'd better be good lining it up for approach/landing. Also, make sure you taxi it it to one of the air-stairs, and line the doorway up with them, because if you don't, you won't be able to get back in!

If you purchase a ticket at the airport, you get on one of these as a passenger... you can either skip to the end of the flight, or once you reach cruising altitude, jump out and go skydiving.
